This electroacoustic piece was my first serious attempt to get involved with the electroacoustic field. This was submitted as my final assignment for the university (Musicology of Athens, department of Music Technology) and I hope it to be a decent start for me to enter this field for good since I find the core of sound and its abilities to be a world of artistic seduction in the senses and a fine field for further scientific exploration and learning.
The piece was written on Cubase 5, various sound sources were used as well as editing techniques. If you are interested in furthermore information, pm me so I can send you the relative analytical pdf concerning the concept and the work that was done on it.
The theme revolves around The Allegory of the Cave of Plato and Foucault's Pendulum.

A slow realization that something beautiful can be born when you give space to ideas. The beauty of a speaking voice (the one of my beautiful gifted sister in this case) the possibilities inside it, the force of a classical piano and the legacy of a gifted poet.

The two roads diverged in my own world, mean struggling between making the best artistic choice possible, every time I am working with the sound through the experimental kaleidoscope. It is a path I have started walking recently and I am determined and inspired to take the one less traveled by.

This is the original poem by Robert Frost:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there

The Road Not Taken By Robert Frost - Covered By Katnsei

I was in a supermarket. Bored, sad, inert, I started observing people, then observing their sounds. Then I observed this beautiful isocratic sound that happened to exist as a background "noise" inside the supermarket (some kind of engine or engines?). I started humming above it in the style of old lament songs. Then I felt connected. This sound example is only a part of what can be discovered through sound. There were some edits on the original recording (made by my cellphone) using Reaper and a few effects. I also added the edited sound of the percussion on a metallic pot I found in the kitchen.

The uploading of this track is meant to remind that no place or situation can be boring if you pay attention closely enough.

"According to legend, an Algonquin Indian woman found herself in a tight spot (pun intended) shortly after she killed a white colonial settler. As she walked away from the scene of the crime, she encountered another settler who asked for her company on a short walk. Naturally, having just murdered one of his people, she was apprehensive and tried to run away. He lunged and grabbed her by the wrist. When she called out to the Native American god Hobomoko to save her, the second settler revealed himself as none other than Hobomoko in the flesh. Morphing into a devil-like guise, Hobomoko grabbed his captive by the waist and flew to Purgatory Chasm.

Colonists said that the devil’s actions on that day formed the chasm. The deep depressions were allegedly the places he stomped and threw his victim. The large, deep cuts in the rocks were the results of a swinging tomahawk."
