great episode Katie! always a pleasure to hear Max Blumenthal speak and always wonderful that he calls out Democracy Now and this time the Young Turks for jumping the shark on Russia conspiracy theories and other critical issues as of late. I'm glad Katie acknowledged the few who haven't squandered their integrity but it is sad to see so many outlets from DN!,TYT,Jacobin,Mother Jones,Vice and al JAzeera jump the shark on Russia conspiracy theories, Venezuela and Syria. Vice and Al Jazeera its because of Qatar and their corporate partnerships, but to see DN! and TYT do this or Bernie Sanders is just disheartening and even human rights group and whether its because of insincere corrupt wealthy donors or former professional liars from goverments working for these places like Human rights watch or amnesty but to see again the outlets I mentioned act as controllled opposition and Neo-McCarythites is sobering the say the least.

He has a Masters in Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS university and is an advisor to the website Declassified  which investigates the activities of the Ministry of Defence and British Intelligence Services.  He has spoken and performed on platforms from the Oxford Union to the Royal Albert Hall and Glastonbury. His latest album Soundtrack To The Struggle 2 featured Noam Chomsky, Frankie Boyle and Ken Loach and has been streamed millions of times. He produces and hosts his own weekly podcast for Mintpress and has interviewed US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, Roger Waters, Naom Chomsky, Naomi Klein, Ahed Tamimi, Ken Loach and Stella Moris (wife of Julian Assange).

Lowkey has become the target of a coordinated smear campaign to demonize, defame and deplatform him. Earlier this month, organised groups forced the University of Cambridge Palestine Solidarity Society to postpone his lecture and were able to stop his appearance at the National Union of Students in Liverpool. 

Now, a campaign by lobby group "We Believe in Israel" is demanding that his content be removed from music streaming service Spotify. This is unacceptable censorship.

The campaign against Lowkey is designed to silence Palestinians and their supporters. Anti-Palestinian censorship is now reaching into the artistic realm.

Schoenkopf, who is a Hillary Clinton supporter, was the only one not on the right wing to respond to the story and wound up issuing a bit of a rape apology. The same week that the Buzzfeed story came out, feminists were tweeting "believe women." But it wasn't in reference to Broaddrick. It was in reference to the women who had accused a New York comedian of raping them. Gabe talks about the rape controversy rocking the NYC comedy scene, Kurt Metzger and Amy Schumer.
