The title 'I Am Her' comes from a poem by Danielle Doby, that describes the fiery nature of the Aries woman. Keywords that stood out to me were 'passion', 'action', 'direction', and 'movement'. My composition expresses these ideas through rhythmic and melodic ideas adapted from the fusion and subversion of Latin styles.

If I May

Aureum was composed as a way of 'immortalising' my plants. Processing samples of plant fronds, misters, humidifiers, plant food bottles, and a glockenspiel; I created a tranquil soundscape.

Aureum

Working within the Latin idiom that I've been exploring recently, ULTRAviolet explores the tessitura of a saxophone quartet, whilst facilitating the development of my recording and production skills, both for auxiliary percussion and saxophone.

Production of this recording featured multi-track layering of alto saxophone. In order to simulate the sounds of the tenor and baritone saxophone, samples were pitched down using complex pro, and formats were manipulated to preserve reedy timbres and increase authenticity. Tracks were panned widely, and reverb was added to add warmth, depth, and space.
