As the cool bass cello riff took center stage in this track, its dynamic vibe seamlessly paired with Kate's vocals. This combination captures the essence and meaning of the song. 'Sunday' is all about embracing moments of respite without guilt—an anthem against burnout. British four-piece THE NEW NOSTALGIA are pleased to announce the brand new single A FRIDGE IN BERLIN, their first new music since the release of their debut album BLEED & BLOOM. in 2022. Recorded by Tom Roach (Crawlers, The Lathums, Queen Zee) at Coastal Sound Recording Studio in Liverpool, the song is an all-out aggressive alt-rock rager about the downsides of leaving your hometown in pursuit of big city dreams. Lead singer Patrick McCallion says:

“It’s a song about the mental arithmetic you do when you decide to move away from home in pursuit of some sort of hipster utopia. I moved to Amsterdam in my early twenties but it could just as easily be about London, Berlin, LA, any of these places where you spend half your life at raves and art installations and the other in a miserable flat with a busted radiator.”

Receiving plays from BBC radio 1, Radio X, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing, as well as playlisting on Spotify (New Music Friday UK, Fresh Finds, Hot New Bands, Indie List) The band have racked up over 2 million streams on Spotify & a dedicated fanbase. 

Following their hiatus, Saytr Play returned in 2023 year with ‘The Butterfly Stitches EP’ amassing over 450,000 streams on Spotify (Editorial backing on New Music Friday UK and Fresh Finds), BBC Introducing support, playlisting on XS Manchester and national radio coverage on BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. Off the back of this success, Saytr Play finished the year performing to over 1000 people at Manchester’s Iconic Academy 2. 

Taken from the ‘Life in Black and White EP’ Saytr Play released the singles ‘Brother (YKTDY)’ and ‘Falling Out Of Love’ towards the end of 2023, again receiving editorial backing from Spotify and radio support from BBC Introducing, XS Manchester and Radio X. In January 2024, Falling Out Of Love featured on Jess Iszatt’s BBC Introducing show on BBC Radio 1, a huge moment for an independent band that prides itself on self producing and releasing their own music. 

‘Only You’ will be released on 15th March 2024 and is our third single from the upcoming ‘Life in Black and White EP. Featuring distorted guitars and bright synths, the song speaks about the initial stages of a relationship where nothing else matters and you feel more alive than you ever have before. We wrote, recorded and produced the song in our bedrooms (something we’re massively proud of!) We always write music based on experiences that we have lived and we want the listener to feel that! Only You

Katie Keddie is a singer-songwriter from Nottingham.

Her delicate, emotive indie-folk sound first caught attention back in 2019 when she released her first single 'Eighteen'. 

Since then she has played at venues and festivals across the country, including Dot to Dot, Beat the Streets and a BBC Introducing live session at Metronome.

 In 2022, she released 3 singles all of which received love from the BBC with 'Comfort and Despair' being named Chill Track of the Week as well as one of Fresh on The Net's 'Fresh Faves'. Her debut EP 'Alaska Sadness' was released in April 2023.
