My Heart Ain't Free

Katlyn Lowe is a country singer/songwriter originally from Jacksonville, FL. Katlyn realized at a young age that she turned to music to escape from the world around her. She started writing at the age of twelve and competed in many local competitions in hopes of getting her name out there as much as possible. Katlyn finally made the big move to Nashville, TN to pursue a career in music in the Spring of 2012. She knew that the odds were stacked against her, but she also knew that she had the drive to chase after her dreams. Since moving to town, Katlyn joined the organization Nashville Universe and won “Song of the Year” for her original song “Maybe Someday”. Soon after the awards show, Katlyn also took home a win at the Nashville Universe Connections contest which gave her the opportunity to work with Rich Eckhardt, Toby Keith’s guitarist. A few months later, Katlyn signed with the Advantage Talent Agency and was given the opportunity to act in Luke Bryan’s music video for “Crash My Party”. “I couldn’t believe how lucky I was and that I actually got the chance to be in one of my favorite singers music videos” Katlyn said. Being around all the people that she had looked up to for years and being inspired by the songwriters she had met since moving to Nashville, Katlyn started co-writing and attending local writers nights. It was evident that her writing began to grow in a new direction. In the summer of 2013, Katlyn met songwriter Craig Wilson. She sat down with Craig to talk about ideas that she had for a song, and it wasn’t long before they wrote Katlyn’s latest single, “My Heart Ain’t Free”.  Since releasing the song as a single, Katlyn has received positive feedback from her fans and the song quickly reached number one on the Vradio Nashville top forty charts. A couple months after releasing her single, Katlyn took home the win for “Female Vocalist of the Year” at the 2014 Nashville Universe Awards. Katlyn has also been a featured extra for the Colt Ford/Chase Rice music video for “High Life”. Katlyn said “I am on this crazy journey to become something that everyone else wants to be, but I will continue to reach for the stars because I can’t imagine doing anything else”.
