damn...what a bliss! i have to ask: what record is it?

Hi everyone! Here’s a late Christmas present to express my gratitude for all the support this year. 

Proud to share the full 160 minute recording of my set in fabric room 1 earlier this year, warming up for Nicola Cruz

In a year full of proud musical achievements, this one took top spot. Playing that slot was a life affirming experience to me, I worked really hard planning set set and it was an honour to have the privilege of getting to perform it live. Big love to Nicola for the invite!

Again, thanks to all those who supported my music this year - loads of exciting stuff planned for 2022 already, watch this space!

Fabric Room 1 DJ Set (Nicola Cruz Warmup)

Here's a re-recording of a DJ set for my friends' birthday party at "Kegel Berlin" a few years ago.

It wasn't going to be long before we tried something different here. This time it's me, Angelo Cruzman, linking arms with my friend Jacoby and going for a manic music journey through our record collections. 

The 'In Your Mind Experience' was first trialled on patients at a secret laboratory constructed out of used records while the market took a dip and it was calculated that it was cheaper to build a high grade facility out of vinyl than traditional materials. The results were questionable, but with a little faith and a few more willing pill-poppers we managed to come up with a recipe that we think shows just how mad you think we are.

Now this is something special: While our mixes normally aim at an average length of one hour, Pingipung artist (Mameen 3) and veteran leftfield selector soFa elsewhere presents almost 3,5 hours of pure joy. Here is what he says himself about this beauty:

"This collection of tracks has been inspired by a psychedelic trip near a lake in Portugal last year. It's meant to be the soundtrack of a sunny and funny afternoon of visual hallucinations and much laughing somewhere near water. Along the way it will also serve a normal day of holidays in the sun. Sip a cocktail near the beach and let yourself fade away with this magic tropical potpourri. Expect oddities from the most diverse corners in time and space."

From Colombia, comes episode number 39 of the series sent by Vandel. Deep soulful grooves with clear jazz, soul and funk influences can be listened to in the mix, representing the sound of the house music record label Discos Nutabe, based in Medellin, where Camilo is the curator and an active dj of the house music scene playing on a regular basis on clubs like Bar Calle 9+1.

With previous appearances on some various artists compilations, Vandel made his debut 12" called 'Inundación' in 2016, released on Discos Nutabe, which today celebrates 4 years of existence.

These are all things which float our boat here at Ransom Note headquarters, that's why this next mix comes in the form of a magnificent duo from Belgium with whom we have developed a fascination in recent times. Asa Moto is the pairing of Gilles Noë & Oliver Geerts - together they make abstract dance and electronic music with a deep, warped personality which always leaves you wanting more. Their music has been heavily championed on DEEWEE, the mysterious imprint run by Soulwax. Most recently the pair have released the "Playtime" EP which is an exotic, sweeping collection of intriguing lyrics and woozy synth workouts.

It's not really fitting the predecessors of the SLOWNOVSKY series, because it's less Re-Edits and Neo Disco oriented, but more Balearesque and Guitarish, but after all, it's  slower than ever, so I guess it fits, when it hits the kids.
