50 Boxes of Earth (cumulative mix)

An improvisational recording of foot stomps, claps, and guttural utterances for "My Children! My Africa!" at Park Square Theatre. With only six people (and the beauty of multi-track layering) I created a riot, a crowd of people chanting, and this body percussion recording. (A video of the recording session can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/145140077 )
	To enhance the track, I laid underneath it a kalimba and shaker (both recorded and performed by myself), and electronic log drum sampler.

Some twig snapping by squirrels can be heard throughout the mix (for instance, at 4:29). There is also the occasional wash by a passing plane (particularly toward the beginning of the recording), and the occasional fly.

In order to maintain stay-at-home orders, Minneapolis issued a permit for a mosque in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood to broadcast the "adhan" during Ramadan so that Muslims can still pray, but do so safely apart. This recording was made at 5pm on May 7, 2020. The prayer can be heard starting at 2:52.

A soccer game, created entirely with sound and lights, for The Jungle Theater's 2018 production of Sarah DeLappe's "The Wolves."

The bulk of this soundscape was created by recording girls' soccer leagues at a Minneapolis sports dome, and recording the cast playing soccer on the Jungle stage.
