Astral Records opens the month of July by welcoming Abime to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Italy, Gianmarco Merenda and Marco D'Angelo make up the Abime production duo. As DJs for over a decade, the pair have been delighting crowds in their home country with a fresh selection of melodic house and techno. Having honed their production sound for many years, Abime first emerged in 2021 with their 'Elohim' single via Wood Records' Limited division, before going on to contribute a track to Androgyne Audio's 'New Era' compilation which landed in February of this year. Now embarking on their first ever EP project, Abime debuts on Astral Records with 'Sleep Dealer', alongside remixes from Main Leaf and Aree.

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of 'Yule' is Main Leaf. Born in Italy and now based in Spain, Main Leaf has been crafting his blend of deep melodic techno for the better part of a decade. John OO Fleming's Joof Recordings, Bullfinch, Timeless Moment and his own Wood Records imprint have all been landing spots for his transcendent sound. Now adding Astral Records to his resume, the Barcelona resident debuts on the label with a stunning take on 'Yule'. Setting the piece in motion, a foundation of tight beats, percussive flurries and tranquil arps build momentum, before breaking off as the vocal drops in for a magical dance floor moment. Buzzing sonics, disorienting projections and emotive chord changes add depth and colour leading into the final break, where breakbeat rhythms and one final taste of the vocal put a cap on this creative gem.

Coming from a family of musicians, Fiona Kraft has always been surrounded by music and started to play piano when she was just a child. As a teenager, she modelled for some of the biggest agencies but also worked as a resident DJ in a club on a barge in Lyon named La Plateforme. Music production and the desire to express her soul followed in 2019 and after her debut single ‘Arenaz’ on Tinnit Music she has landed on the likes of Sudam Recordings. She has developed a distinctive style that blends an Afro house vibe with tight beats and has shared decks with Black Coffee, Miss Kittin, Guy Gerber and many more. This new single is a real celebration of freedom. “The Beat Of Freedom is my personal ode to getting back to normality," says the artist. "During the lockdown I wrote extensive lyrics about freedom and dance. After I wrote the synth lines and laid down the drums I asked legendary Italian vocalist Tanja Monies to sing over it.“ The single is deeply immersive, with lithe and elegant drums sweeping you up. Soulful synths dance above the drums and the spine tingling vocal elevates things to another level entirely.

"After the huge succes of our Daniel Pinho EP in July, Chrom proudly presents another typcial summer EP. The artist behind our new one is Matt Dwellers. Born and bred in France, Matt moved to Australia. After dwelling within deep and melodic atmospheres throughout Australia, Matt Dwellers' sound has grown in experience and enthusiasm for out-of-the-box creation. From Melbourne to Brisbane, he has made it through many venues and festivals with the same hunger for new experiences and enlightment. With melancholic elements often overthrown by brilliant melodies, Matt's creations fell within a range of deep progressive and minimal styles. But Matt has now returned to his homeland and is willing to explore a whole new direction in his own genre. Discover his sound in this beautifull EP called "Marginal" which he made for Chrom and contains 3 orginals.

On the first one we take the chance to present you AkpaLa: the brand-new Organic House project of our own label manager Pedro Mercado together with his female partner Na Te, which they started up during the covid lockdowns. AkpaLa stands for sexy, bohemian, hedonistic, oriental, ethnic, shamanic and spiritual sounds with a female touch – inspired by events such as Burning Man and Gardens of Babylon. AkpaLa released already 1 official remix under this new monniker (for Marcovits on Uzons Records), so this one for Chrom is their second one, with a lot more to come in the near future! The second remix comes from Grzegorz Ochman, aka Greg Ochman, from Kalwaria Zebrzydowska in Poland. Greg has found himself touted as one of the next big things in the allconquering European Organic House scene. The Polish producer has had an impressive run of recent quality releases and remixes on labels such as Lost Miracle, Radiant., Bar25, Go Deeva, Plattenbank, Univack, Warung, Dialtone Artvibes,... so we are more than happy to have him now on Chrom."

Best Therapy is a stylish and atmospheric deep house cut with exotic melodies. Steamy female vocals pan about the mix to bring an intoxicating feel next to mellifluous melodies and rolling drums. It's utterly enchanting and classy. Best Therapy (George X Remix) is then more propulsive thanks to the soft shakers and roilling beats, but watery sound effects and wispy pads keep it deep.
