James Harcourt lands at Renaissance on an absolute tear. In just this year alone he's seen a track hammered by Tale Of Us (Beholden); released on luminary imprints such as Sincopat, Selador and Parquet and been remixed by indie-titan, Musumeci! Reach a little further back in the discography and the plaudits continue... he's clearly a producer in undeniable ascent.

Now he returns to Renaissance following a stellar debut on their Merin VA series with their first, full EP together, which is a diverse, 4-track player that pinpoints James' unique sound and meticulous production. Yet, his inspirations and influences may come as a shock, "At the time of writing the tracks I hadn't set foot in a club for nearly 4 years – even if there's the pandemic to factor!", he explains, "I just couldn't find much of the music I wanted from old-skool promo trawling, digital sites and record shops; I realised that if I wanted to create those moments I was looking for, the magic, dancefloor spark you only get at festivals, clubs and parties - that I should get on and make it myself."

So, with a clear objective, the Quartz EP was born with the dancefloor firmly in mind. Whether the peak-time power of Trust Me With Your Heart, the melodic stylings of Sister and Spellbound, or the emotive breaks of title track Quartz, James paints a musical picture that's full of power and beauty, "I was looking to fire up those moments in the witching hour when the music is enough to tip you from caving-in to raving the early hours away, eventually emerging to reality in the daylight hours!", he enthuses. 

The EP gets a further diversity-injection courtesy of Mr Morek, who brings a shimmer of indie class to Touch Me With Your Heart. "I wanted to approach writing this remix from outside the box," he says, "I set myself the task to experiment a little, yet still deliver a track that can harmoniously cross genres and fit in a wide selection of DJ sets."

Due for release in November, Echoes of Memoria is the eagerly anticipated debut long player from Ameli Paul. A strikingly artistic project that sits somewhere in between electronica, alternative synthpop, breakbeat and even operatic excursions, the Berlin-based outfit has created a truly personal and contemporary work of art that breaks away from normative convention. 

The album was created over the past five years, with each track on the album representing a period in Ameli Paul's turbulent life. With an early Voice message [2016-08-21] (one of the tracks from the album), Ameli inspired Paul into making music together and a love romance between two people was born. 

The melting pot of a trained singer and awarded jazz musician with a successful electronic music producer, the common experiences, impressions, smells, emotions and encounters processed by both Ameli and Paul over the past seven years have shaped their unique musical signature. Overall Echoes of Memoria is a musical diary about transitions, inner turmoil and ultimately their break-up, which all reverberate together to build this monument, honoring and cherishing the countless precious moments they’ve shared. 

Playing live in renowned clubs and festivals, Ameli Paul are increasingly known for casting a spell on their audience. It’s this unique, multifaceted sound that is effortlessly melting genre boundaries and listeners’ hearts around the world. To accompany the album release in November, Ameli Paul will be supporting iconic German producer and internationally celebrated live act Monolink on his huge European winter tour. Taking on over a dozen shows across Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic in just five weeks, the tour kicks off at Progresja, Warsaw on November 9 and concludes at Zoom, Frankfurt on December 10. Stil vor Talent announce their new sub-division Light My Fire with 'Celestial Bodies', a floor-busting of a two-tracker coming courtesy of label boss Oliver Koletzki and core element Niko Schwind. As per usual with these two, one can rely on their unmatched ability at crafting electro-techno gems bound to have booties shaking and hearts melting in unison.

'Venus' and its straightforward groove, adorned with a lush palette of EBM-inflected bass manoeuvres and arena-sized momentum, this one finds Koletzki and Schwind delivering the kind of spine-tingling wind one can expect from only best-in-the-game big-room operators. A feast of synth-laced nostalgia and cross-dimensional floor dynamics, all set at running the hoodoo down till euphoric abandon ensues.

The first chapter in Light My Fire's birth is a promise and a confirmation at once.
