Hallo ihr lieben Weltenbummler,

wieder und wieder zeigt sich das der Weltfrieden nur ein Wunsch unsersgleichen ist. Wir schauen in die Ukraine und können dabei nur den Kopf schütteln. Das Krieg im 21 Jahrhundert noch so einen großen Stellenwert besitzt, und die Leute immer noch nicht gelernt haben miteinander zu kommunizieren mach mich fassungslos. When creativity and curiosity meet with the passion for electronic sounds and the love to musical detail, then this is the perfect base for talents like the berlin based Othertune, to create something new.
Already since childhood, the DJ and producer has been pursuing his enthusiasm for music and appearently teaches himself himself this and that imstrument by the way, so that the classic pop and rock variante is initially the focus of his attention at first.
After all, it is a broadcast of the “Love Parade“ that can inspire the musician for the techno genre which hasn‘t let him him go since then.
His own radio show on the subject and first DJ gigs follow, including in the berlin cult club Salon zur wilden Renate for the “Bordel des Arts 2017“. 
Musical role models such as Rampa, Tale of Us or Maceo Plex inspire Othertune to also become creative for other artists and act as a producer behind the scenes in addition to his own progressive and melodic techno tracks (released on Mukke and Click Records).
In his own studio, live in the club or as part of collabs with artits such as Kollektiv Klanggut the berlin resident established a creative, catchy melodic sound that both stays in head and drives onto the dancefloor. Never with the tunnel vision for his own genre, but always interested in looking beyond the musical horizon with a focus on sound quality and originality. 
Wheter as a resident DJ  in the Hamburg neighborhood in the house club “Frau Holle“ or as a part of the scene label Katz & Kauz Music - Othertune is busy and with a lot of energy in shaping today‘s techno scene and enriching it with his musical signature.
An interplay of experience on stage, at the decks in the studio and as a producer - with irrepressible creativity and love for electronic music - we can already look forward for further tracks from the berlin house Othertune.

Peter & Moritz, who together form Thys & Taylor, have been DJing together for six years. Peter is from Belgium and lives in Frankfurt am Main since 2019, but first moved to Marburg in 2011. There he met Moritz, who in turn has lived in Marburg since he was born. When those two got to know each other and discovered their common passion for music, Moritz already was part of the collective ‘Marbylon’. Marbylon at that time was well known for its club parties and illegal raves in nearby forests that Peter & Moritz helped to organize.
 
When the two started playing together six years ago, Peter’s first idea was to play Drum ‘n‘ Bass. But it quickly showed that Peter & Moritz were based in Techno. Nowadays, their sound moves between House, Deep House, Tech House and Melodic Techno. Basically everything that counts as Techno and sounds great to them is included in their Dj sets.
 
In addition to Thys & Taylor, the two also manage the podcast site ‘Tonspuren’ (German for ‘soundtrack’). On this Soundcloud website they present DJ sets of befriended artists from their musical network. In 2016 they took part in a DJ contest of ‘Jeden Tag ein Set’ and scored first place. They were rewarded with a gig on the main stage of the ‘Burning Beach Festival’ in Nuremberg( Germany). One year later, in 2017, they won the contest of the ‘Panama Open Air’ festival in Bonn (Germany), where they were also allowed to play on stage. According to them, they had their best gig at the ‘Aftrsun Festival’ in Belgium. The time spent in clubs and on festivals to them simply is a time to rebalance among friends and culture.

DHS Guestmix: Thys & Taylor (Tonspuren)

It was in February that I was listening to new tracks on my bike and got this great imagination of being on a festival, dancing to these tracks that really move me both emotionally and physically. 

I could sense the excitement and happiness of being there, surrounded by beautiful people, a great scenery and the music I love. 

I have tried to keep that moment with me and transfer it into this set. If I am really honest, for parts I was dancing, smiling, being fully excited and experiencing exactly what I was looking for, but I also lost it in some parts, not choosing the right tracks to keep floating away. 

I think it's nice, part of the adventure to create a great musical story. I am not a professional dj, but I do put all my heart and passion into it. Play it loud and feel free to dance :). 

Hope to see you this summer on some amazing festival somewhere, fingers crossed!
