"Growth"

Remember the time when music was really handmade and real - and it touched you on a different level to a degree that you had to listen to it over and over again? Kaye-Ree's third album "Growth" is one of those timeless albums that has so many different flavors that it lets you dance, reminisce, self-reflect and travel to different spheres. It goes from slow RnB jams to Latin to Funk and a whole lot of Soul! One thing about Kaye-Ree's lyrics: it touches everybody because everyone can relate to those growing-pains, thoughts about this particular time and yet, she doesn't complain or whine but actually explains her positive way of handling her traumas and experiences that helped her grow.
This time Kaye-Ree recorded the entire album on 432Hz with her entire band: Guitar by Martin Loos, drums by Amir Eftekhari, Jo Meltke on Keys, Alex Heilmann and Uwe Felski on bass and Kio Nawab on Tabla.

Pretty soon we'll have robots in our society, you're going to have a lot of automated processes that used to be done by people - this is happening. Society and technology is changing so fast, and the impact of the change on society and technology is global, not local.
Above all, I would hope that not just one leader of a wise race, at great expense, would set loose an army of self-replicating brain squeezing skull munching robots. Figuratively speaking of course...

A 9/8 beat with dire tones, Due or Die is an existential motivational speech; the head coach portends the fate of the team. Just before the end of a game, the story unfolds in due time. To get what one is due, or die in the act of attempting to attain or obtain what was originally thought to be rightfully theirs (perceived or otherwise), is the message in toto. It is the protagonist of the story who is listening most intensely and intently to the coach, but unfortunately does not make the big momentous play and fails the attempt in a calamitous fashion.

In 40 years of loving classical music, string quartets always seemed a bit chaotic to me; even structured, delicate, mannered Haydn, Mozart, seemed, to me, on the verge of flying out of control. Here is a bass quartet (I like the lower tones of the bowed instruments) that flirts with - no, hugs and squeezes - chaos.

Kaye-Ree ist eine Deutsch-Persische Soulsängerin, die in der  Revolutionszeit im Iran geboren wurde. Aufgrund der schwierigen Umstände zu der Zeit sahen ihre Eltern eine sichere Zukunft für die Familie daher eher in Deutschland. 
Kaye-Ree sieht sich daher selbst als Weltenbummlerin, die nirgends und gleichzeitig überall zu Hause ist. 
Doch eins weiß die lebensfrohe Künstlerin genau: egal woher sie oder andere Menschen kommen, wir sind alle eins. Davon singt sie und spricht sie in ihrem Song "One", den sie auf ihrem zweiten Album "New Air“ veröffentlicht hat. Ebenfalls auf ihrem 3. Album „Growth“ spricht sie über die Notwendigkeit für die Menschheit, sich mehr als Einheit zu sehen, statt sich gegenseitig zu bekämpfen. 
Kaye-Ree wuchs sie in der Nähe von Wiesbaden auf. Der Einfluss der dort stationierten Amerikaner und ihre eigenen Cousinen brachten sie zum Soul, RnB und HipHop. Ihre Vorbilder Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder und India.Arie sind in ihrer Musik zu vermuten. Und doch hört man ihren ganz eigenen Stil in der von ihr und Felix Justen (ein klassischer Gitarrist und Komponist) seit 2003 geschriebenen Musik. Mit einem ihrer Vorbilder, Stevie Wonder, stand Kaye-Ree schon selbst im Background auf der Bühne, was für sie bis heute ein absolutes Highlight ist.
Sie legt seit Anbeginn ihren Fokus auf Authentizität gelegt, daher spürt man bei ihrer Musik das, was man im "Soul" spüren soll: Kaye-Rees Seele. Ihren Drang nach Freiheit. Ihre Berufung, Menschen zu einem glücklichen Leben zu motivieren, auch wenn es das Leben einem manchmal schwer macht. Das setzt die 
charismatische Künstlerin auf ihren letzten beiden Alben "New Air" (2013, Reelement Records) und „Growth“ (2021, Reelement Records) unter anderem um, indem sie ihre Texte aus ihrer eigenen Erfahrung schreibt. Die Musik komponiert sie mit ihren Gitarristen Felix Justen und Martin Loos, als auch mittlerweile ihrem Bruder Amir Eftekhari, der ebenfalls ihr Drummer in ihrer 7-Mann Band ist.
Der Sound ist auf dem dritten Album etwas voller, funkiger und tanzbarer geworden, die sozialkritische und doch lebensfrohe Message ist persönlicher aber dieselbe.
