I'm a graphic artist, writer and musician living in a cool historic neighborhood on the east side of Detroit. I was married for 16 years until my husband passed away about a year ago. I'm not looking for a new husband (at least not right away!) but it's been a long time since I've been on the dating scene, so bear with me if I don't know what I'm doing. I'm just barely dipping my toes into the pool.,  I'm self-sufficient, down-to-earth, hard-working, and have a sometimes wicked sense of humor. I can look pretty damn good when the occasion calls for it, but I'm more of a work horse than a show pony. I don't care about a few extra pounds, a few drinks or a few tokes, but I do care that a man takes care of his health overall. ,  I LOVE nerds, musicians, writers and creative people. My biggest turn-on is good writing. I'm not into arrogant d-bags, image-conscious posers, bullshitters or guys who like to flash money around. I won't be impressed by a guy's car unless he built it himself. ,  Want to wow me? Write something brilliant, witty, and meaningful. Impress me with your mind., ,  UPDATE: Crikey, I was hoping I wouldn't feel the need to add this section. ,  Dudes, I'm attracted to intelligence. I'm looking to meet people who I find interesting. Your first impression with me is not your photo, it's what you write. If you take the time to read my profile and then send a message that looks like it was texted by a dyslexic first-grader, it's a huge turn-off. You're a grown-up; you should have learned spelling and punctuation and how to string together a few coherent sentences long ago - and if not, we can't hang out. ,  Secondly, guys, I DO read your profiles, and I don't know what these other wimmenfolk are putting you through, but... wow. Why do so many men's profiles say stuff like &quot;honest, not a game-player&quot; or &quot;hopeless romantic with so much love to give,&quot; but next to nothing about the man himself? I like roses and back rubs as much as the next gal, but there's more to life than that. ,  Thirdwise, here come the disclaimers (sigh): 1. My photos are all recent, with one obvious exception, because any Detroiter knows exactly how many years it's been since the Wings brought the Stanley Cup to town. 2.
