A New Way Of Living' is the culmination of Australian producer Griffin James' hard work and dedication to creating glorious sample-based electronica. Whether it be touches of disco or flurries of drum machines, James' sound is truly his own and his upcoming seven-tracker is a joy from start to finish.

To whet your appetite for the release we have the premiere of 'Ellingfort Road' and this one bounces and floats through its six-minute run time. Delicate cymbals and shuffles open the track up before a steady 4/4 and elegant strings get teased in. It's summery, uplifting and a perfect example of what FIO is all about.

Who better to kick off the inaugural release of SOBO [Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest] than Patrick Holland, best known as Project Pablo. Affiliated with the Canadian Riviera's 1080p troupe, as well as Seb Wildblood's Church and Lone's Magicwire – Holland now adds Beaubien Dream as the fourth instalment to his 12" series. The Beaubien connection comes from Montreal's Rue Beaubien, of which Holland is a resident. SOBO is headed up by fellow longstanding citizens of the Beaubien Ouest hood, Arbutus Records and their extended family – of which Holland is an instrumental part.

An initial teaser of the EP's opening "Closer" was aired publicly during Holland's BR London set back in October, as well as his NTS appearance with Lone and Gabriola earlier this year. Now, after a patient seven-month wait, we can finally wrap our mitts around it in its entirety. Alongside its two subsequent components, the track acts as a homage to Holland's home. With its distinctive Dx7 melodies, jingly percussion provided by bells (of the cow variety amongst others) and an insatiable groove growing lazily throughout – "Closer" is instantaneous happiness.

Detroit veteran Andres is no joker. With a bunch of EPs and albums under his belt, released on KDJ and Mahogani music amongts others, he's played a big part in exporting Motor City's house sound over the past ten years. Having graced the most recent FOMDO 12” release with his signature touch, Andres returns on the imprint with an alternate take on the same track. Taking the classy disco cut ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ into moodier, deeper territories, with freshly chopped vocals and a hazy hip-house bounce, it’s a warm late-night stepper, laced with classic OG Detroit funk. Out on May 27th, essential!

Kicking things off with a release from Chaos In The CBD, ‘Accidental Meetings’ is a record that celebrates this way of living. Kabaka is a DJ and dance music composer based in the east suburb of Paris. 

Influenced first by the 2010s parisian electronic music scene, he started to compose lo-fi house and afro house music in the late 2015 with @boukan-records

Then, Jonathan's evergrowing appeal for the 80s-90s-00s dance music era made his musical universe evolve and led him to create @tsmacorp, a web platform focused on dance music culture. He tends now to compose and play electronic music with a strong early house accent.

Indeed, Kabaka rather like to draw inspiration from the pioneer of dance music more than the current ones. It's the reason why he still maintains a genuine passion for digging, collecting and playing records under the radar.
