There is a quote from Gilberto Gil that says: “Brazilians are a being on the planet, the size of the world.” That's why we have the mission of seeing beauty in variety and abundance, and thus absorbing the best that the planet's culture has to offer. In this set you can find a bit of Samba,​ Cumbia Peruana, Habibi Funk,  Turkish folk ​, Merengue​, Salsa​, MPB, Raï Algeria folk​, Highlife,​ Yemenite folk​, Afro-funk​, Arabic Pop​, Persian Pop​,  Rumba Flamenca​, Reggaeton,​ Brazilian Funk (baile funk), Electronic Funk, Dancehall, Afrobeats, House Music and Disco. That's why limiting myself to playing just one genre doesn't make sense to me!

Released in 1983 as part of the "Dádiva" album, "Rio Babilônia" is not as famous as the "Taj Mahal / Filho Maravilha / Pais Tropical" song, which was the highlight of this LP. 
It is nevertheless a joyful love message written byJorge Ben to his incredible hometown. Here is my drummed up edit of it.

Dando ênfase a um riff do maravilhoso violão do mestre João Bosco, este Remix é o primeiro trabalho assinado em conjunto pela dupla de DJs Tuca Flash e Lucas Barata. Parte do mantra rítmico presente na música Gagabirô e explora, num trabalho extenso de incontáveis camadas, percussões afro-latinas, timbragens eletrônicas, e arquiteturas de house music. O encontro de diferentes referências, escolas, e maneiras de entender a pista de dança se unindo a serviço do groove! Feito para amolecer cadeira!

A música ‘GAGABIRÔ’ é a última faixa do Lado A do LP ‘Gagabirô’, de João Bosco, lançado pela gravadora Polydor no ano de 1984. Originalmente conta com Nico Assunção no baixo, Armando Marçal e Chacal na percussão, e Cristóvão Bastos no piano, além do próprio João Bosco no violão, no vocal, e nos arranjos. Aqui segue em REMIX de Tuca Flash e Lucas Barata, outubro de 2017.

Released in 1980 by Cameroonian singer Bill Loko, "Nen Lambo" is a killer makossa track led by a typical funky electric guitar rhythm.
Here is my drummed-up Dj friendly edit of it.
