จิตที่ตั้งมั่นเป็นจิตที่มีลักขณูปนิชฌาน 
ส่วนจิตที่เป็นกลาง ตัวนี้จะทำให้จิตมีพลัง เป็นอารัมมณูปนิชฌาน 
หลวงพ่อถึงบอกว่า “มีสติรู้กายรู้ใจตามความเป็นจริง

การรู้กายรู้ใจตามความเป็นจริงคือการเจริญปัญญา

พอมีจิตตั้งมั่น มีเรี่ยวมีแรงมากพอ 
เอาไปเดินปัญญา อย่าเฉยๆ อยู่ 
เดินปัญญาก็คือ พอสติระลึกรู้กาย 
ไม่ใช่รู้อยู่ที่จิตนิ่งๆ เฉยๆ อย่างนั้น 
สติระลึกรู้กาย จิตตั้งมั่นและเป็นกลาง 
จะเห็นไตรลักษณ์ของกาย 
สติระลึกรู้เวทนา ถ้าจิตตั้งมั่นและเป็นกลาง 
จะเห็นไตรลักษณ์ของเวทนา 
ถ้าจิตตั้งมั่นและเป็นกลาง สติระลึกรู้สังขาร 
ปรุงดีปรุงชั่วทั้งหลาย จิตก็จะตั้งมั่น จะเป็นกลาง 
จะเกิดปัญญาเห็นไตรลักษณ์ขึ้นมา มันจะอันเดียวกัน 
ในสติปัฏฐานทั้ง 4 ขอให้มีจิตที่ตั้งมั่นและเป็นกลาง 
สติระลึกอะไร อันนั้นแสดงไตรลักษณ์ทั้งหมด 
เราเห็นไตรลักษณ์นั่นล่ะ
