The narrator of that trailer sounds like a jive turkey

It didn't help the main "hero" was kind if a whiny jerk.

Because he wants to live his life, that's why, ya impatient punk! Ya can't rush this! It'll lead to mediocre product, or the creator will get tired of the rushing and say "Screw this". It is something I've had to learn the hard way. 

DB Weiss and David Benioff, the showrunners, write like 6 or 7 of the 10 episodes each season while Martin gets to write one of the episodes if he wishes. Basically, the only involvement with the show he has is writing the books, so they're good for the next 2 seasons at least.  The show is Weiss and Benioff's project with Martin's blessing.

An interesting point that someone brought up is that they go to a Middle Eastern country and the only terrorist is a white guy. Fast and Furious has consistently brought in more money since the 4th one, so this film has consistently proven that a diverse cast can sell and that Hollywood is just coasting on an excuse now.
