Y'all whould know that the book is very different from the movie (or at least what I saw in the trailer). The kids are much yougner (I think 12 years old), there is no CW-esque lover story, and there are no flying ships catching people in tractor beams. I hear dabout Jeff Bridges trying to get this movie made for years, and I eagerly awaited it finally happening. Afer watching the bullshit trailer I will not be paying to see this movie. The book also had a great ending that was either very happy or very sad depending on how you interpreted it, and I'm guessing this movie has some crappy, crowd-pleasing ending for the fifteen year old girls who appear to be its target audience. (Correct me of I'm wrong).

It's not popular amoung the youth, they just made us read it in English class. It was a total bore, frankly.

It's funny you guys say young adult and I had to read this in Elementary school. I don't like how in the commercials they try to make this into a youth romance story. I could just not remember that part but I know that wasn't what was the most important parts of the book
