I love Lord of The Rings and these movies have done a terrible job of trying to replicate them

Thank god that series is over  I mean my god that film dragged on and on. I love the book. I read it many times as a kid and that cartoon they made of it in the 70s but for these films there are only certain chunks accumulated that I enjoyed. There were so many added characters and put in pointless cameos trying to reference Lord of the Rings. They tried to make the series into the Epicness that Lord of the Rings is but its not meant to be that. When you get down to it, Its just about a greedy dwarf king wanting to get his treasure back from a dragon, Not a massive fantasy WAR flick. Oh and speaking of Smaug SPOILER SPOILER THEY F**KED HIM OVER,  The main Antagonist of the book is knocked off in the 1st 10 minutes, SERIOUSLY thats some bullshit. I’d honestly just rent this film, my ass went numb sitting in those chairs for so long.

I kinda agree with that, I could never really like Thorin or see him as noble, he was just too much of a dick, don't get why other people like him. He's no Aragorn

haha, yes. It took me out of the movie how it made it feel like no one was in real danger and then have *those* characters killed at the end.

I get his motivation though, he's looking out for his people, why should he care about the dwarf's problems, they're not even on good terms.

Our journey comes to an end as Bilbo tries to be the voice of reason before Thorin the dwarf's greed causes a massive war. Wait - Bilbo actually has a part in his own story this time?
