Wow Martin, way to talk down to people just because they like a movie you didn't. I like Godzilla for what it was, not because it reminded me of some goofy movies I watched as a kid.

It's pretty fair, though I'm the type of guy who wouldn't mind a story change from the original, as long as it is a good story. Because I think it's good to get something new than just a paler story re-telling.

I feal that way to somtimes. Might sound selfish but you do have to look at what is best for you.

Edge of Tomorrow! This is the first movie that proves to me this can be done. I know it started out as a light novel, but it has all the tropes. It does exactly what Martin says too, doesn't focus on pandering to anime nerds and is just a good movie.

Audience doesn't want it. Plain and simple
