Considering how the movie is a straight to DVD film with a budget of less than $4 million, I don't think it could have gotten anything higher than a rental. You can't exactly compare it to animated films that get released in theaters with 20 times the budget. The whole Fathom events thing where they showed it theaters was just dumb since the animation was made for TV, not a huge theater screen.
