Here's a WIP of the new version of beatnikmaschine. This is made with iMaschine and Animoog for IPad (no other instruments). The only 'cheat' is the beatnik poetry from Philippa Fallon. Her poem comes from a 1958 b-movie called High School Confidential (which I've never seen) but I caught this excerpt (poem's called High School Drag...I guess the meaning of that word has changed lol) on youtube here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT_FC8xSBGE and it turned into to this piece of nihilistic chillstep. I'll probably change this once I've listened to it tomorrow but, for now, this is it. Kev

This is a track I wrote and mixed with my (at the time) 12 year old son on holiday who plays the bass on this track. He was just learning but is now, only a couple of years later, probably (only probably youngun) better than me. Re-released in sympathy with this (also re-released) track from Dave McKeown. What can I say, I was bored. I was reading some comments on Caalamus's page about Little Robot samples. I was trying to think what, in a completely synthetic brain, a young rebellious robot would like to listen to, programmer language seemed like it might be 'forbidden' so all the phrases are commonly used programming terms. Many of the sounds in here were made using Yamaha TNR-i for IPhone and some using Synthstation for Iphone.

✇ Slightly updated version uploaded for the first of the month... ✇ Been playing guitars a bit more these days after a long time away from electronics hence the slight shift in direction on this track. Thanks to Clair-Louise for the Bolang Gu she bought me back from Egypt (of all places) which inspired this track. I also used a few guitars from my collection (the main riff is acually played on an Yamaha Compass Series acoustic), a Penan Mouth Harp (carved from a sliver of bamboo) I bought in Oxfam years ago for about a quid,  a tambourine and some Creative Commons acappellas from the legendary DJ Vadim (thanks to him for his generous CC downloads). The rest is other electronic soundstuffs.
