June 2016 saw Portuguese producer, Pete K, excel with his debut original EP for Proton Music. Now revisiting the title track, "Utopia" sees a trio of new, highly prized remixes.

Greek artist, Dousk, ensconced in Patras, west of Athens, on the Mediterranean coast, has excelled in a glittering musical career. A much sought after artist in both DJ and production arenas, Dousk continues to excite with his unique brand of music. An eponymously titled debut for John Digweed's Bedrock, ensured a name in lights from career outset as Klik, Plusquam and Movement have all played their part in showcasing the Dousk name. Furthermore, some seventy production credits have found their way to the Greek imprint, Vapour, in glittering fashion. A regular on Proton Music since 2013's remix of Tvardovsky, the "Bisocial" EP stood as a landmark moment with the twin-track EP going onto receive a host of remix treatments. Reworking Pete K, the Dousk remix of "Utopia" is full of the trademark rhythm and bass groove that defines his sound. A huge beat and twinkling percussive line lay the foundations for a garrulous vocal sample to wend its way across the track's entirety as occasional melodic riffs and spot effect add depth and intrigue in a fascinating rework.

Australian duo, GMJ and Matter, have both been at the forefront of their country's underground music scene. Both accomplished DJs that have seen performances across the globe, their individual production portfolios are exemplary. Balkan Connection, Clinique and Particles have been staples of GMJ and Matter's solo work with the latter accounting for a number of impressive original GMJ EPs. Similarly, Visceral, has been a constant companion during Matter's production career thus far. Coming together on Proton Music for their debut original release, the "Superordinate" EP laid the foundations for a successful partnership that has seen remixes from icons, Oliver Lieb and Rich Curtis. Now developing their first Proton remix, the GMJ and Matter remix takes "Utopia" on a fast-paced percussive journey with urgency coming from ticking hi-hats and metronomic beat. Clever use of original components sees the remix retain the essence of Pete K's work as a raft of luscious, analogue melodies are part of rich additional production material that takes the track in a subtle new direction with scintillating results.

Dubai based Subandrio is an artist who has continued to make impressive headway in the underground dance environment in a relatively short space of time. Emboldened by multi, "Middle East DJ of the Year" successes in 2009 and 2013, a debut in the shape of the three-track, "Silcone Oasis" EP for Lowbit in 2104, began the Subandrio voyage as a clutch of further material has found its way onto Juicebox Music, Balkan Connection and Flow Vinyl in the past two years. Furthermore, an appearance on Hernan Cattaneo's "Sudbeats 3" compilation cemented a reputation that has continued to grow apace. A pair of remixes coupled with the "Black Box Between", part of the "Fall Particles 2016" compilation, is now followed by a debut remix for the flagship Proton Music. Thus, a chunky and hypnotic percussive groove sits tightly melded to a subterranean bass line, creating a delicious groove and swimming across the left-right spectrum. Sympathetic use of Pete K's original components keeps the essence of "Utopia" intact but a raft of additional production, not least in an intelligent new lead riff, ensures Subandrio continues to earn his seat at the underground's top table.

A musical triptych from Dousk, GMJ and Matter and Subandrio has demonstrated that paradise is still found within Pete K's "Utopia".

When u hear his work you instantly know that his ideas were based on story-telling melodies and electronic vibes, but somehow in his own way he makes it recognizable! Forniva is a name you should bookmark cause this lad is on fire! "Melange" EP, the one that perfectly describes my previous overview of his work, with the remixes from Darko Milosevic and Neftali Blasko collaborating with Rodrigo Cortazar completes this phenomenal release!

Hidden Vibes family hits again with a very "dance to my beat" Leaving Traces EP. And again with the deep mix of live instruments, unexpected vocals and pulsing analog synths. Roma Moss draws a picture of rhythmic guitar dancing around pulsing analog synth and then powers it with live violin making the track sounds huge. hOlY joins with her magic deep vocal and that was the point when the whole our family shout: "Oh, yeah, this is it!" Zoo Brazil supports the release with a magic stunning work so well developed in dynamic and growing power - the real branded sound for which we are very thankful. And then there is also FREE.D remix who again experiment with the his version density - huge amount of details but still saving the groovy mood. 
So that's our number 6 - a very long way for that release producing ends here and here is her Majesty Music with its power. Dance You!

We are very pleased to welcome Granada's finest, Mordisco to Paper Recordings with an EP that is 'a tribute to the 90s sound' and delivers in spades.

Musica de Baile has clean and crisp production, fizzing percussive arps and a krautrock synth that builds in wonderfulness as the track develops.  Is it deep house, space disco or balearic?  Who cares when its this good!

Nahual gets lush with Mordisco's sparking production.  Heavy on atmospherics, the bass drives things along as synth lines weave in and out and the dynamics build in to a trip for the head and feet.
