West Coast mainstays @dannygoliger and @justin-jay bring a slamming, club-ready collaborative release to Scuffed Recordings on the ‘Sticky Rice’ EP.

Danny and Justin have been releasing music together since 2020, when the two teamed up for a track on their own Fantastic Voyage imprint. Since then, the Los Angeles based artists have collaborated on tracks on Dirtybird and Childsplay, marking them out as a team to be reckoned with.

Alongside their collabs, Danny has appeared as a solo artist on labels like clip.art, art|werk and Moving Castle, while Justin has had a storied career appearing on labels as varied as Time Is Now, Suara, and Pets Recordings along with being a longtime member of the Dirtybird camp.

Now the two join forces on Scuffed Recordings, with a release including two collabs and a solo track from each artist.

From the outset, the duo wears their UK influences on their sleeves, taking in breakbeat grooves, rolling bass, and upfront percussion. Over the course of the two collabs and two solo tracks, Danny and Justin gleefully tear through an array of genres and influences – whether that’s electro, techno, UK garage, breaks, or IDM, they bounce off each other effortlessly to form a concise and impactful club EP.

Stepping onto France's @monstart-crew records, @pura_pura straddles rap influences, a fervent defender of 808 rhythms, and metallic club sounds on his latest offering - a six-track EP titled 'Odyssey Club' paying tribute to different historical currents of the dance music scene.

As 2017 draws to a close, following on from their debut appearance on the latest Circular Jaw release with Agrippa ‘CJAW007’, the Milan duo Ltd Colours prepare to drop their second full release, a four track powerhouse brimming with percussive tension and dancefloor ready tracks.

Having worked with the fellow Italian and Nervous Horizon top dog, Wallwork and releasing music on the certified Mexican imprint Infinite Machine, they have already set the precedent for themselves to continue as some of the scene's most innovative rising producers.
They also hold down a residency on Gioconda Radio with their show ‘SAFE’ and play for the collective ORBITER, proving themselves as talented selectors on a regular basis.

Opening the EP is ‘Depths’ rising up from a deep ambient crevice comes the most true introduction to the Ltd Colours sound as it bursts out from its hole, ready to strike with skittish vocals and sparse drums that propel the track along, making it a powerful weapon for the club.
‘Ritual’ follows suit and keeps the momentum up, leaving little room for a breather in between it's captivating dancehall drum rolls.
On ‘Anything’ the duo are joined by new UK talent Rex Domino, who slings a set of twisted technical bars over the moody low-swung beat, and last but not least, this percussive package is topped off by the stomper that is ‘Rough Place’, where hard drums and mechanical rhythms collide.

This release also features an intriguing piece of art created by Marco Fabri with acrylic on wood.
