Based in Brussels, Altinbas has been at the forefront of techno production and mixing for the past few years. His acute knowledge of sound design allows him to create layered elements rich enough to allow for minimalism without losing the track’s body. Since his first record release in 2015, his style - naturally - has changed. Almost tribal-like leads evolve over the span of his records, distancing himself from percussion-based arrangements from before to allow for deep and tunneling atmospheres. These records, especially Layers of Compassion on Non-Series’ White sublabel, embody these qualities to create truly hypnotic club music that has found its way in many top selector sets all over the world. 

Altinbas also has a close working relationship with Amsterdam based FLOAT records, being the second artist besides labelhead TWR72 to release on the imprint and continuing to contribute to their boundary-pushing catalogue.

Ivan Turanjanin; one of the keystones to the South African dance music industry, working tirelessly for nigh on 2 decades to enhance our scene, his contribution cannot be overstated. Everything his hand has touched has been bona-fide class and it's not hyperbole to say that our scene would not be where it is today were it not for him. 

As a DJ he is best known for his forays into driving techno, both solo and as one half of Killer Robot. Though anyone who knows their shit know's he is the quintessential DJ's DJ - able to seamlessly deliver a broad spectrum of genres perfected to whatever time slot or stage he finds himself upon. 

We had the ultimate pleasure of having him close our Weekender event in February; this mix is based upon what he blessed us with this hot & hazy Sunday. Testament to his sonic diversity and crowd-reading prowess, he absolutely roasted the dance floor with an arrestingly  emotive selection that punctuated the whole weekend like no other could have. Tears of joy were welled in the eyes of our revellers - no word of a lie. What a guy!

Recording of my all night set @Modular Cape Town, 29/07/23. Starting from zero bpm with some ambient and dub textures, and gradually progressing up into the upper 130s in the later hours.  Thanks to everyone who joined me on the night in the booth, stopping by for some, or all of the time. This turned into a very special night and helped me reconnect to all that music and djing is for me.
