This is a single cut release from Akiko Kiyama's upcoming new album. These new works stem from two years of exploration outside of her established dance floor inclinations, boiling down her sound to its essential organic grooves, intricate harmonies and eery atmospheres. 

From her peculiar sense of harmony and rhythm, and a meticulous minimalist approach to composition, emerges rich lyrical lines forming a unique musical universe that few has had the chance to hear yet.

Following their surprising debut on cassette tape in past February, Magamura put out the vinyl version of Supernaturals. Comprised of Eril Fjord and Laurine Frost, the Hungarian duo have carved out their reputation through live performances at renowned festivals and venues like Arma in Moscow, combining the formar’s indie aestheric and the electronic music prowess the latter has proved on work for the Nervmusic imprint. Despite their huge influence from the 70-80s experimental music, Supernaturals is not so much retrospective as ominously dystopian. It captures and distils their well-known improvisational mutability into a testament to their promising potential, which will stand the test of time. This is Kebko Music’s first instalment on vinyl. Following our tradition of carefully-wrought artwork, the LP comes in a gatefold sleeve designed by Damien Tran.

Akiko Kiyama’s Kebko Music is proud to announce its third instalment with the debut and one-time-only album by Magamura, an experimental project founded by guitarist Eril Fjord and Not So Secret label boss Laurine Frost. Focused on their improvisational approach, the Hungarian duo have released no music to date, instead making appearances at renowned festivals and venues like Arma in Moscow and establishing their name with the combination of the former’s indie aesthetic and the electronic music prowess the latter has proved on Nervmusic. Despite their huge influence from the 70-80s experimental music, Supernaturals is not so much retrospective as ominously dystopian. It captures and distils their well-known improvisational mutability into a testament to their promising potential, which stands the test of time. True to form, each cassette comes with an individually hand-printed silk screen cardboard case, craftily designed by Damien Tran. Also, Supernaturals is set to be released on vinyl in early 2017.

Akiko Kiyama主宰のカセットレーベルKebko MusicからMagamuraによるデビューアルバムが2017年2月17日にリリース！ Coldfish名義でAll Innからハイクオリティなミニマルサウンドを発表してきたLaurine Frostと彼の盟友ギタリストEril Fjordによる電子即興プロジェクトMagamura。ハンガリー出身のふたりはこれまでArmaなどの著名クラブやフェスティバルでのライブ活動に特化し、リリースは一切行ってこなかったが、彼らがKebko Musicの音楽性に共鳴したことで今回限りの特別なアルバムが誕生することに。Eril Fjordのインディ的アプローチと、Laurine Frostの精巧なエレクトロニックミュージックが混ざり合い、カテゴライズできないユニークな音楽が実現。即興による変幻自在の表現で知られるMagamuraらしさが詰め込まれた『Supernaturals』は70～80年代の実験音楽に触発されていながら、そのサウンドは回顧的というよりもむしろ退廃的な未来を描きだしている。今回もDamien Tranのデザインによるシルクスクリーンプリントを個別に施した、”モノ”としても楽しめるパッケージを採用。2017年上旬にヴァイナル・フォーマットでもリリース予定。

Kebko Music is pleased to announce the debut album by Aalko, a new project by label founder Akiko Kiyama. Renowned for her minimal techno track featured in Richie Hawtin’s seminal DE9 Transitions album, the Japanese producer reveals her another side under this new alias for No Man Is An Island. The project has already created a stir as Aalko has garnered support from Gilles Peterson on his BBC 6 Music radio show and premiered a live performance at MUTEK's Tokyo launch, where she drew the audience into an inspiring frenzy. 

Aalko is a culmination of Kiyama’s recent practices in a wider musical spectrum that go　beyond the confines of her minimalistic techno characteristics. It conjures her distinctive soundscape where a variety of styles coexists: she demonstrates her knack for breaks, ambient and irregular time signatures, her acute ears for unadulterated tone and texture of sounds standing out in sharp relief. 

There are floor-oriented tracks that work wonders in a DJ context. "Body & Soul" is an erratic rhythm experiment jumping between several beat styles. "Mixture" offers Kiyama's unique interpretation on syncopated dynamics of breaks. "Sweep you Away" is a mind-altering affair with an incessant ever-changing synth riff. 

In contrast, No Man Is An Island features open-ended creations free of dance floor functionality. An unquantised loop produces a peculiar stuttering groove with ominous sounds bobbing up and down on "Turn To Turn." "Audio Sketch" depicts an urgent soundscape with fast arpeggios streaking over lumbering bass pulsation one after another. "Reaching Out" is a freeform electronic jam over a downtempo beat. Akin to Kiyama's Ophelia album, "Ground Life" and "Only Its Voice Rings Out" represent her kitschy idiosyncrasy and "Condensation" ends the album on a playful note.

These nine tracks reflect Kiyama's native inclination to an authentic unadulterated sonic quality. They give the nod to her peculiar self full of sonic idiosyncrasies, showing no fear of breaking accepted conventions. No Man Is An Island comes in an individually silk-screen-printed craft case with a download code inside. The album is followed by a single cut due out on vinyl featuring an exclusive track.
