I Just Want To Play The Blues

I was asked to write a song to honor the life of a very special person...Shantal Tiffiny (with an "i") Johnston Pettry. Shan lived life to the fullest, sometimes on the edge. Throughout her life, she wore her faith on her sleeve, even to the point of spreading the Good News from her hospital bed. I came to know Shantal through this song. Her dear aunt Susan (Smith Elliott) provided all of the material for the lyrics. I pray I find the grace and courage Shantal displayed in her battle with terminal cancer. God Bless Shan and her family...especially her "treasures" (grandchildren). - Marc

She's The One

This is a song I wrote about my dad after he passed away in 2002.  Writing "Our Dad" allowed me to move through the grieving process and honor a great man by sharing the highlights of his life in song.

Born into a family big on simple things
Good hard work and music, there was no shortage of
Rich in truth and values back when times were tough
Seven sons, one daughter came to show that love's enough

Called to serve his country as a young man
Sergeant in the occupation army overseas
There he met a Belgian girl he’d marry
Together they would build a life and start this family
