With a laid back and low-key funky country groove, "Dusty Passports and Empty Beds," considers the hardships of 2020 primarily through the lens of the losing of several icons of country music. John Prine, Paul English, Billy Joe Shaver, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Charlie Pride all get nods, while the overarching theme is perseverance and forward motion. Regardless of the difficulties, this old world keeps "on spinning, as it makes it's way around again."
