Everything performed & sequenced by KeeLo61 on a Roland D-20 (all sound patches incl. drumkit & bass, 8-tracks MIDI recorder, audio mixing & effects).

This animal was my very first multi-tone synthesizer and multi-track sequencer, quite a beast at that time, and much cheaper than its Big Brother then, i.e. the acclaimed D-50.  Its sounds generator was based on "Linear Arithmetic (LA) Synthesis", funny wording even today - worth a listen. Despites a painful user interface  and a tricky internal structure, I had real fun in pushing it to its limits. Never really felt limited actually.

Mostly made on a Roland U-20 (except drum kit & bass patch, from a Yamaha-something that I borrowed, surely not a DX-7).

The U-20 was actually less of a synthesizer and more of a sampler, yet with no sampling capabilities, which made it affordable. Its sound patches(based on PCM i.e. "Pulse Code Modulation" - yes another funny wording here) were actually ROM samples, and aimed at emulating real instruments mostly. Well, looks like this animal had other things to say too... It eventually was part of my rig over more than 10 years, both live and in the studio.

MIDI-recorded on a Roland D-20, i.e. 8-tracks sequencer with neither quantization nor velocity shaping features, hence the sometimes "off-the-beat" but also "live" feel.

Archived on a 2-tracks audio tape, with a few unfortunate clicks. Finger slips & other audio bugs were deliberate.

Laser Show - Part 1 (1989)

Instrumental demo track for my first band as a composer & leader, which I later named So What. First performed on a Roland D-50 and a Roland U-20 (drumkit & bass patch from this latter), sequenced & processed on Mac HW & Cubase SW, then mono-recorded on a 4-tracks soundtape, so as to finally record & mix guitars. This track still lacks vocals - Lyrics & line proposals welcome...

I was fortunate to have earlier met in Chess my "partner-in-crime" Sebastien Gabriel (SebG), an electric & acoustic guitar wizzard, amazing arranger & performer when it came to make my tracks more organic, more heavy, more... everything - This track testifies of our teamwork - Big up Dude.

You just make me feel like before (1995)

First ever track composed on electric guitar, and then arranged on keyboards. Performed on a Roland D50, a Roland U20 (drumkit & bass patch from this latter) and a Korg WavestationSR, sequenced & processed on MacHW & CubaseSW, then guitars added and mixed on a multi-track numeric recorder. Lyrics & vocal line missing and most welcome...

Once again SebG did a tremendous job on guitars, making the riffs much heavier than I could play, and the lead "battle" section just mindblowing - Big up Dude.
