When I first moved to LA, I was living with my parents and sharing a bedroom with my younger brother, which was incredible, financially, but devastating, creatively. It took me a couple years to find a survival job that could help me withstand the impact of rent, and as soon as I was able to, I moved out on my own. The freedom that came along with my own place was insane, but paying rent in LA is no joke bruvs — seriously, if you move here, be prepared. It had me juggling my phone bill, car insurance, car note, and music expenses in the 2 little hands God gave me, and eventually, the car payment slipped.. a few months through the cracks. 

The bank called me—I didn’t pick up. They sent me a letter saying they’d repossess my car—I didn’t believe them. My homie Choni (who had his car repossessed before) told me not to play games with it—I didn’t listen. It wasn’t until one day, when I saw a guy in a white van making eye contact with me for a little too long, while I got into my car, that I thought…”damn, they might be out to get me.” 

Sure enough, the Repoman came…
