My set from solstice festival is up on the cloud. 

Solstice is a unique festival happening in the northernmost tip of Finland. Since it’s so far out of civilisation (9 hours drive from Helsinki), the people who choose to attend are actually making the effort to travel that far and are purely there for the music & nature.

At this time of year, the sun in Lapland is never going down... the stage was up on a mountain giving a glowing northern view. I got the dance floor from Ajukaja & Ats who played a live set around 120 bpm and took it from there. It felt like playing at a club but it was at the open wide - probably the absolute perfect settings for me.

I've never been one to record my live sets, but this time I wanted to try and capture the essence of the moment. You can never fully recreate it, but you can feel its energy. I made sure to include the sounds of the room, the raving crowd, and even some funny insights at the end of the set 🙃

Thanks Joni, Denzel, Justus, Daniel and Andy for crafting it all, you are true pros! And to Gabrielle for holding my hand and making your birthday celebration in the woods one to remember! Lastly, thanks Yonti for joining me in purchasing this recorder just days before the festival :)

Babybell is a dj alias of a Viennese interdisciplinary artist Isabelle Orsini und Rosenberg. Being present in the clubscene for a long time since her teenage years she developed her own feeling for it. While playing she is seeking transcendent and unusual sound, drawing from a diverse palette that ranges from ecstatic ambient to hypnotic trance. Uplifting, rapturous and cohesive multi-genre mix from Babybell for this months’ show!

Born in Colombia, raised in southern Italy and based in Milan. Alejandro approached music as a drummer and percussionist: graduated at Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon, he performed in various theaters around South Italy. Later, he developed an interest in electronic music starting from vinyl selection and being inspired by Oscar Mulero, Plastikman (Richie Hawtin), Efdemin and Marco Carola in the early 2010s. During his musical path, he’s been exploring different genres of electronic music, making each of his sets unpredictable. 

Lately, Alejandro is focusing more on ambient music, tribal and techno. Here you will listen to an unexpected mix of tracks, inspired by nature.
