Our most beloved hero in the history of video-games, Mario. the red-colored Italian plumber had came in a really long way since the year 1981 with the arcade game, Donkey Kong and passed through a lot of transformations over the years.

The Super Mario series is nowadays considered as one the most successful gaming franchises ever. More than 9 million units and copies of games were sold to over 800 countries around the world and features along Mario, the other characters or rather, residents of a beautiful and imaginary place called the Mushroom Kingdom.

The best Mario games of all time were the ones from the Super Mario Galaxy series that debuted on the Nintendo Wii, not to mention the original NES game, Super Mario Bros. from 1985 and of course, the so praised and personalized 3D game Super Mario 64 for the N64 and Nintendo DS.

But there's not ONLY the best games that belongs in the Super Mario franchise. There's also games from the Mario Kart series, the Mario Party series from 1 to Superstars, the Mario Golf series, the Mario Tennis series, the Mario & Luigi series and the infamous Mario vs. Donkey Kong games from the GBA, DS, 3DS and Wii U.

And one more thing that made Mario SO ICONIC apart from the many games it had since his origin as a video-game character is his energetic, friendly and exciting voice.

Since the early-90s, Mario's voice was provided by a man no other than Charles Martinet. His first debut as Mario began sometime around Spaceworld 1992, one of the largest events in the video-game community besides BGS and E3.

Charles also had voiced the character in some infamous MS-DOS and Macintosh games that had something or rather, anything related to Mario.

But Charles' biggest moment was in 1996, when he started to provide the voice of Mario in 2 games that became absolute global successes in the video-game industry. The first one being Super Mario 64 and the another one that was lated released the same year, Mario Kart 64.

And for many, many reasons and tips being told from persons since a long time ago, that is why the Italian plumber Mario is always enchanting millions of Nintendo fans around the world since 1981. And all because of Shigeru Miyamoto, Koji Kondo and Satoru Iwata.
