It’s hard to pinpoint Keisuke’s style down to one genre as the London/Berlin-based artist fuses various sub-genres from electronic music like Minimal, House, Deep House always remaining true to his partly ambient- and atmospheric note. With releases on Phonica or 20/20 Vision Keisuke has proven the later but not only holds this quality when it comes to own productions but also when putting together the latest edition of the art:cast series, where he smoothly switches between the sub-genres always having a melodic-note grinding over smooth, partly crunchy yet minimalistic basslines.

Keisuke's latest track, "Change Your Mind," serves as the A1 track on his freshly minted label, Hatsu Records. The release, part of the "Change Your Mind EP," embodies his unique take on dubby Techno while showcasing an evolving sound that feels as experimental as it is intentional. Living in Berlin, Keisuke taps into the city’s thriving electronic music culture, blending its dark, intense undercurrents with unexpected elements.

"Change Your Mind" sets off with a brooding dubby techno foundation, marked by heavy basslines and pulsating beats that gradually pull listeners into a mesmerizing groove. However, true to the track’s name, Keisuke masterfully shifts direction midway, introducing bright piano chords that instantly lift the mood. This unexpected twist feels like a burst of Balearic warmth amid the track’s otherwise deep, immersive rhythm. The contrast between the dark, cavernous atmosphere and the sudden melodic brightness creates an effect akin to dancing at sunrise in a dimly lit club, where shadows meet the first glimmers of light.

Change Your Mind EP is the first release from Hatsu Records. Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, driving basslines and rolling percussion are a constant. Swirling chords and acid riffs take the tracks up into a subtle euphoria or sideways into moody, intoxicating grooves. 

The EP is produced by the label founder, Keisuke, a London native now living in Berlin. His releases on Phonica Records and 20/20 Vision enjoyed support from the likes of Butch, Cinthie and Shanti Celeste. Here, we hear his fresh interpretations of old school tech house take a harder-hitting turn.
