Description: I've had the Vienna Symphonic Library Fujara flute sample instrument for a few months and have wanted to use it in some way because of the unusual sounds it can produce. The fujara flute originates as a folk instrument from Slovakia and is associated with shepherds, hence one part of the title.

Nice overblown rasping from the flute. Kind of reminds me of the folk horror pastoral of Marc Wilkinson‘s excellent score for Blood On Satan’s Claw

These songs are influenced by images from the poem Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold. I’m not sure how this poem came to me, I’m not a big reader of poetry, but there is is. I used several images from the poem to name the songs, as well.

I got the idea for this song from ñaupa here on Soundcloud to juxtapose the an all black key scale with an all white keys scale, and this is the result

When I was 14 and trying to learn to play guitar no one told me about A440 tuning. I knew how to tune the guitar string to string, but wasn't aware that records and what I heard on the radio had a standard. I soon became frustrated trying to play along with what I heard and began making up my own music. Still at it.
