One Night at Dino's

All written on the bass and transposed to FL Studio, note by note, onto various (dodgy sounding) samples.  It's been a learning curve, lots of fun, and I am quite proud of it, however amateur it sounds.

So what’s a lost boy to do?
Now it seems our superficial friendship is through.

Until you drained me and I became worthless,
Sooner or later I guess I’d served my purpose,

Writhe

Time, Space, Life, Death.
If you lose your sense of wonder, if you can never stand rapt in awe,
If you lose sight of the mysterious then what is this life for?

Gods, Devils, Power Struggles.
Man made god in his own image, a deity that he could command,
To guide social conformity until the better man ruled the land.

Now we see it rise above us like a devil coming out of the sky,
As the borders keep on shifting and the humble workers die.
No water for the thirsty ones, no wheat to make the bread,
As nations rise and fall against their streets paved with the dead.

Men, Boys, Self-destructive Toys.
Send your children out to die, wrap them up in TNT.
Brainwash them to be your heroes and tell them god agrees.

Fight, Pain, Tortured, Slain.
Let your leaders think for you and they’ll order you into their fields,
Demanding that you fall for them while they reap in the yield.

Now we see it rise above us all like a devil flying out of the sky,
While towers of power fall and burn in a pointless waste of life.
So take the moral high ground now, though our sins are all the same.
In a fight against the enemies that our own system made.
We should take our share of the blame.

I don’t want to support anyone that wants to kill somebody else,
I don’t care which side of the line you’re on – it’s wrong.
I don’t pretend to understand the space between you and me,
I only know we’re all human here,
We need peace.

Wise words, seldom heard.
Peaceful men and women fall beneath the blade of inequality,
While the warmonger takes audience although he never ever speaks for me.
Never, never, never…

One Life, Here Now.
If god was looking down on us then we wouldn’t be expected to kill,
No deity in any heaven above would have us do this will.

And we will see it high above us, like an angel coming down from the sky,
As the borders become worthless and all nations are allies.
Then use our science to help us, bring food and clothes to all.
And if I lose sight of my dreaming, then what is this life for?

Silhouettes and shadows fly across the sunset skyline,
A fleeting glimpse of her in her domain.
Untouchable though always there, the full moon high above me,
Is reflected in the lake beneath the waves.
And as I stand here on the shore,
As I have so many times before,
I know she's out there listening to me.
I close my eyes; I feel her warmth inside,
And deep within my soul has been released.

She comes to dry my tears away, a gentle breeze against my face,
Blowing all my fears away, leaving nothing here to trace.
When I hear her I need to be near her,

Waiting, I’m on edge, tell me when will it be?
Suspended animation, something I don’t need.
Think myself in knots; I am my own worst enemy.
Ringing out as true or wishful thinking?
Seeking my salvation from a broken history,
Every way I turn to go, that dead end’s facing me.
Rain comes to down to wash away my thoughts of yesterday,
Maybe tomorrow I can play again.

I’m not usually hooked like this, I confess.
Tangled up in someone else’s mess.
Conversation killers; I got a hundred-and-one.
Tripping over my own feet, now my balance is gone.
Losing my salvation to these vampires I don’t need,
I can’t even save myself so why rely on me?
Fakers try to drain away my generosity,
Maybe tomorrow I can stem the bleed.

I can’t move; stalemate.

Bittersweet memories come rock me to sleep,
Everything is fine in the realm of my dreams.
When morning comes with its sunlit kiss,
