For my younger brother Graeme Duncan, miss him and think about him every day.  Born 2nd September 1982, Died 24th December 2013.  Almost three years?  Feels like yesterday.  I hope I done you well my brother.

Graeme's eulogy, it was the hardest thing I'll ever have to do in my life.

"some people call me naive
but i believe 
truly believe
that we are all reflections of each other
learning from one another
the faults we see in others 
are most likely our own
we need to judge ourselves
before we judge someone else
selflessly helping our own personified being
into our own questions of wants, wheres whys and whens
forgive ourselves
help ourselves
love our self
then we can judge one another without conviction
with open arms and love in our eyes
helping others realize
their own faults
mending ourselves along the way

my brother was a beautiful human being
with faults
just like us
i regret how i treated him

Graeme had a good nature, 
even tho sometimes he had trouble showing it.
he lived with a lot of regret, 
but he never, ever 
had a bad word to say about anyone

He was my cheeky younger brother,
testing my patience
driving me mad
but is that not what brothers do

I have to call him my younger brother by the way
cant call him my wee brother
he ended up being a lot bigger than me.

its a shock to us all 
but he was a big part 
an unforgettable part of our lives 
at one point or another
we are all human beings 
dealing with our own problems
he was exactly the same as each of us here now 
but with over - reactive - emotions 
he had a tendency to get highly strung out
or motivated
or lethargic and thoughtful
he was the extreme of human emotion
he was recently diagnosed with severe paranoid schizophrenia
its an incredibly hard illness to understand
finding out he had this explained a few things to us

but in recent times he could calm me down in just a few words 
or a sentence
he was getting better
he was getting to that stage of clarity and assemblance of the mind
i was getting to that stage of wanting him back in my life
i was getting ready to know him again
in the end he was the brother i remembered and loved

the song i am going to play is about letting people go 
when u are not ready to, 
facing up to it and accepting it no matter what.  
carrying on regardless.

hold onto memories good or unforgettable about Graeme, 
life is terrifyingly precious
and unique
cherish it"
