I took some time away to write a short collection of piano and string pieces named 'Of Sleep and Time'. This is the second piece.

This piece began much more complex than it is now and I had been working on it for a long time, struggling to get it right. Eventually I stripped away all of the extra notes and was left with the minimal piece that it is now.

A careful tearing

A silent weight floats over invisible horizons, where echoes dissolve in the breath of extinguished lanterns. Each sound lingers like the memory of forgotten skies, breaking fragments of light among the ruins of silence. Time bends into fragile reflections, and in the stillness, a hidden current draws everything toward an infinite horizon.
