This is actually a song I posted on Facebook about a year or two ago.  It's really not a love song, It's about that lazy person you're trying to be friends with, but she doesn't wanna make the effort.  I think we've all had friend like that.  I finally figured out how to make beats in GarageBand without the use of a drum machine.  It's so much easier, So I hope you like this complex beat I made.  Complex, yet it hopefully doesn't interfere with the song.  

I sent this song to a girl I was trying to impress with my musical skills.  Unfortunately, When it arrived on her phone, it interrupted the game she was playing just before she was about to beat her brother high score.  How do I know, Because she told me....  This song is dedicated to her:)

BTW, No loops were used, It's made from scratch.  AND, YES, I know I can't sing....

Keith Rangel Jr. - "Well, Well, Well"

Well, Ever since I learned the benefits of MIDI, I've found it easier to make beats and record songs.  Here's a song that came out of me listening to 80s R&B and new jack swing music.  This song is loosely based on what happened after open mic night went terrible wrong.  I'm probably exaggerating....

Well, One time we played and were very unprepared one night and did a very  'off time' performance.  I even think someone in the audience cursed at us, lol.  The last song we did on stage was "Take on Me" by A-ha.  One VERY drunk girl was dancing the whole song, so at least she liked us.  After our set, I just walked off the stage with my head up high.  While walking past her, I said, "Thanks for dancing:)".  I just sat in a corner and kind of embarrassed by how 'off' we sounded that night.  Well, she walked right by me again and I said something like, "Sorry for how bad we were..." and she just put her arms around me, kissed me on the cheek and said, "That's ok, baby.  You guys have a great sound.  I'm going on next...."  I figured, if there's one drunk person that likes our band, there's got to be at least a few others:)  Well, I was too busy consoling my band member outside when she went on, but I heard she was great.

For the record, She wasn't that on top of me to have to tell her to "Call me the next day", nor did I give her my number.  The point of the song is that while people meet sometimes when they're drunk, a real man would not to take advantage of the situation.  It's the truth.  Hence, telling the girl to "call you the next day". 

 It was very dark in the bar, I wonder if she was cute....

I must say that MIDI seems to make recording songs easier, probably already did say that....  I find it amazing how many songs I've been able to  upload onto here so quickly.  Well, Here's another....

It's a song about not being predictable when trying to get that one girls attention.  Sure, Be the nice guy and say "hello" every time you see her.  OR, One day, you could let her do it....  TAKE NOTES PEOPLE.

The whole, "bom-bom" thing was mostly inspired by a song by the British 80s band, ABC.  Let me know what you think, people.  I'm getting quite a few listens from other countries, so even if you don't speak english, please leave a comment and help me get a better idea of who likes my music:)

I was in a band until recently, we're all good friends, still.  That's what important.  I used to show the songs to the bassist first.  He liked most of my songs, but there was the occasional 'dud'.  This was one of them.  Never really understood why he didn't like it....

Unfortunately, this song has a sad story to it.  When I was a little younger, I started to realize that I suffered from anxiety.  After that a lot of things changed for me.  For one, I didn't attend church as regularly, because, well, anxiety makes even the simplest things pretty difficult.  Consequently, most of my friends from my church kinda stepped back a little.  Well then I learned from another 'friend' that a very close 'friend' of mine didn't invite me to his graduation party.  When he told me why, he basically said something like, "Since you stopped attending church, It's not that you're a 'bad example', BUT..."  Honestly, I don't remember the last part, but that's all I needed to hear.

I later looked at myself and thought, sure, I DO watch "South Park", I DO watch Rated R movies, and YES, I DO sometimes curse.  But then I realized that I have a lot of good qualities, about me, too.  To some I may be a 'bad example', but to others, I may be something else.  All I know is that you cannot be judgmental of other just because they're not like you.  Being different makes us who we are, and that's really a good thing.

BTW, the two 'friends' I mentioned later stopped talking to EACH OTHER!  Ain't, Karma a bitch?....

Keith Rangel - "Bad Example"

I actually wrote this song 2 years ago.  It was originally supposed to have a "country" sound to it, because well, the title just sounds like a country song to me.  The premise of the song describes my scheme to save some cash simply by put fuel in the car where it's just a tad cheaper.  I was just driving one day and the song pretty much wrote itself.  Well the chorus, at least.  If there was a video to this song, I'd want it to look a certain way  Cheap.  Once again, this is me trying to make electronic music that could pass for alternative music.  That me playing all the instruments and singing all the vocals.  I intend on using this song with my band, Her Loss.  Feel free to comment and share:)

Keith Rangel - "Waiting 'Til I Get To Joliet"

This is actually my 3rd upload to SoundCloud.  In our lives, I'm sure we have that ONE PERSON that we would've love to have dated.  You know, that ONE PERSON that didn't feel the same way you did.  That ONE PERSON, that if you would've married them, your life would've been "complete".  Well, this song is about that person.  I remember telling a friend of mine about that girl and saying, "Well, I guess she didn't want a free meal...".  My friend said, "You're not supposed to think of it that way!!!".  Lol, Well I later wrote a song about it:)  The girl this song is about went away to college, so I don't really see her anymore.  

If she EVER hears this song, I'll find it kinda funny;)

Keith Rangel - "She Did Not-She Did Not"

It was just December that I recorded "I Don't Love You" with a friend of mine.  It's a good version, I can't deny that.  BUT, A friend of mine played one of the first recordings I made of the song complete with the heavy guitar riffs, so I wanted to rerecord it to make it sound more true to the original.  If you've been following my music, you know the story already, I don't feel like telling it again(Hint:it's in the description on the old one....)  Anyway, it's kinda funny to think I recorded a harder sounding version of this song, because when I first came up with the song and the chorus, I always seemed to imagine Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys singing it.  That's funny, because they're aren't exactly a 'heavy' band.  I feel good saying that, because Alan Wilder formerly of Depeche Mode said he always imagined Neil singing the chorus of "Enjoy The Silence".  Interesting....  Oh and that IS a drum machine in the background.  All my other tracks I've made involved me playing all the drum sounds on a keyboard, BY HAND.  

Keith Rangel - "I Don't Love You '2012"

I actually wrote this song at about 2am this morning.  I really can't say what influences I had while writing this song other than it's a SynthPop song.  I'll have my band add guitar to the song one of these days and make it even better.  Feel free to let me know what you think:)  I'm sorry if it sounds a little "uneven", I was having fun with the effects.  And I know I'm not a great singer.

Well, I guess some of you have been wondering why I haven't uploaded anything lately.  I've been working on my bands demo.  In the meantime, here's a song I had written down.  This is just the synth and drums, I plan on making extensive use of the guitar in this song.  I think the finished version will sound very 'rock-y' compared to all my other songs.  If you're excited for the final product complete with vocal, bass and guitar, give me a holler!  I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that I'm already getting listens from all over the world....

Hello, My name is Keith.  I'm an aspiring musician, as you can see.  My main influences are bands that defined the 80s.  However, My musical tastes have drastically broadened in recent years.  There are days when I'm in the mood for 90s Country, 70s disco, 60s rock.  Anywho, I've taken drum lessons and piano lessons only within the last few years.  I never really practiced, Ha, but I learned the basics which is very important.  Hopefully, this music will take me where I wanna go in life.  I have dreams.  For all the other aspiring musicians out there, just remember not to be discouraged by the 'haters' out there.  Keep at it.  If someone doesn't 'see' what you see, well then there's a lot of things in life they're not gonna see.  So don't feel too bad.

One last thing, I'm sure some of you have seen a 'theme' with the songs I've uploaded.  I don't live a life full of negativity, those just happen to be the songs I pulled out of my notebooks and recorded.  Besides, Songs about unrequited love are so easy to write.  Any songwriter will tell you that...
