Flying Missiles, Atomic Bombs And The Second Coming (empty Rooms 0005)

wow this was fun for me.

I randomly chose number 7, well I would always choose 7 because, as I believe i may have mentioned at some other point, 7 is cool.
I was not disappointed. its about a rat.
did I mention, rats are also cool.
except when they eat all the damned cherries.

I haven't as yet listened to the other 6 parts.

I took the sample and clipped off the opening breath reversed it, copied and pasted it, fed it through far too many different plug ins then deleted it and started again. 
this is the result

 being a short piece i listened to it many times over about a 2 hour  period after a busy might at work, to the point that I couldn't really tell what it tasted like anymore, and being 2am there was no one to have a slurp and tell me if it needed any salt. I think it works really well if you play it on repeat for 2 hours and listen through headphones whilst trying to stay awake.

Louis The Ratfish King(disquiet 0200 -kadreyscore7)

I chose the Montano album, partly because they are from New Zealand but mainly because I really liked their stuff.

I took the beginning 8 or so seconds of each track looped them and slowly layered them over  each other at different volumes according to the amount that they actually mixed in with the surrounding sounds.

I recorded the process (played through Logic Pro X) through a free Audio capture application called Audio Hijack.

This week’s project is a special collaboration with Real Future, as part of the Real Future Fair being held in San Francisco on November 6 and 7. On the evening of the 7th I’ll be presenting some of this project’s audio during the Fair’s Real Future of Sound segment, and talking about the Junto with Alexis Madrigal, the Editor-in-Chief of Fusion. Madrigal and Fusion’s Cara Rose DeFabio participated in the development of this week’s project.

Just A Moment(disquiet0201-realfuture)

I made this in a short space of time for Duke Albada who wanted some sound for a video installation entitled "You Are Here" a macroscopic video journal of a 5000 km road trip, revolving around connection to Country. (and about how WE tend to fuck things up)

The brief was, well, brief, as long as I didn't scare anyone.

I had seen very little of the footage (in fact I still have no idea as to what will be actually shown), I guess I will find out at the opening.

if anyone wants to come it's at Ballina/Byron airport, NSW, Australia about 6.30 pm on Thursday 14 Jan.  There will be free wine.

The piece will be installed in Ballina Airport as of today, 6th January 2016 until March 2 2016.

keithysdunimselfamischief's last hurrah, a poorly constructed cover of Duran Duran's "Planet Earth". 
It didn't start out that way but after listening to it I could just hear the words "there's no sign of life" in the background.
I guess the name gvies away something about it's age as I have held onto this for a while, hoping to fix it up in all the places it needs it but as Keithysdunimselfamischief is "disbanding" so to speak it seemed like a good time to release it, just in time for next Christmas.
It has previously been released (sans vox) as part 2 of "Shire Promotional Grotesques"
thank you to Nettles who gave me very honest and learned advice when I asked for it, which I stupidly ignored and forgot. 
I wish I had done what you said to the vocals, whatever it was, I probably didn't understand at the time anyway.
