Kelfar Technologies introduces the new and improved EXs171 Sha'bi sound library, offering a selection of Sha'bi dance oriental sounds created with physical modeling technology and engineered collaboratively by Mr. Majdi Tamim and Kelfar Technologies.

The popular library, introduced in 2016, has been updated in both 2022 and 2023 to include 119 all-new sounds. The new sounds are added to Combis Bank INT-F on KRONOS and N bank on NAUTILUS. The Combis in Bank INT-F (Bank N on NAUTILUS) were designed, programmed and engineered by Mr. Shawkat Alghabra and Karim El-Far of Kelfar Technologies.

Multiple Korg NAUTILUS/KRONOS engines were used to create these new sounds, including: STR-1; MOD-7; AL-1; PolysixEX; and MS-20EX with CMT (Component Modeling Technology). All the sounds are accessed and performed in "Combis" BANK - USER-F (Bank M) and INT-F (Bank N).

For maximum expression and lifelike articulation, we highly recommend using an Expression Pedal or Breath controller. To make these sounds as expressive as the instruments they model, appropriate resources were carefully programmed to emulate the articulation of each one. After-Touch, Velocity, Joystick, Ribbon and skillful use of Alternate Modulation Source make these sounds come alive.

Additional care was taken in the programming to make many of the sounds similar to those possible with the Korg Trinity V3 and Triton Extreme with MOSS (Multi-Oscillator Synthesis System). Kelfar Technologies proudly presents EXs 259 Kelfar Golden Sounds — a special release library capturing the authentic Levantine sound of the 80s and 90s.
These Golden Sounds are sourced from three legendary Korg workstations — M1, T3, and 01/W — instruments that shaped an entire musical generation across the Levant and Mediterranean region. Their unmistakable tones became staples of major concerts, TV music shows, and countless iconic performances of that era.
To preserve this legacy, the Kelfar sound design team meticulously recreated the original character of these classic keyboards. The same two master effects used in the M1, T3, and 01/W were matched and ported to the Kronos and Nautilus, ensuring these sounds remain sonically identical to the originals.

Kelfar Technologies Introduces EXs 185 Accordion Master

Kelfar Technologies proudly introduces its 11th sample library, the Accordion Master. For the first time in the world of accordion sample libraries, we have created one specifically designed for the Korg Kronos music workstation. 

The Accordion Master has been recorded with a special Middle Eastern feel to maintain the original characteristic of each register. 

We have chosen the most commonly used accordion registers for the Middle-Eastern music. 

These include:

Natural Articulation Feel

Also included are a wide variety of idiomatic articulations and ornaments that add an extra level of realism to each instrument.

Each note (non-looped samples) of the accordion has been recorded (F2-A5) to maintain the timbre quality, the feel, and the melodic attraction between each note. You can even hear the natural noise, such as the open/close of the accordion and the Key On-Off, as if you were right in the room with the instrument itself.

Songs Themes

What is special about this library? We have programmed in Combis mode an accordion that matches the same accordion used in songs from the 60s, 70s,80s, 90s, and to the current year. With the help of our audio design team, Kelfar Technologies has matched 100% of the accordions used in many songs from this era.

The Kelfar Master Accordion sound library was recorded by Mr. Hanna Dahine in Los Angeles, California. Engineered and programmed by Karim El-Far of Kelfar Technologies.

Why vintage organ music--and how did vintage organ music become popular in the Middle East?

In the 50s, 60s, and 70s, classical and pop music across the Middle East was called Franco-Arab music. The name "Franco-Arab" became a trend when the music took a more Western tone than the local microtonal music. This led to the integration of Western and Eastern music especially in Egypt where that style of music flourished and became the main center of the new music in the Middle East.

They were three greatest Egyptian singers of all time: Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, and Mohammed Abdel Wahab. These three pioneered the use of the vintage instruments such as the organs, synthesizer, and electric guitar. Our new EXs 186 honors these artists and others who were masters of vintage Franco-Arab music.

Vintage Organs and Synth Sounds

Kelfar Technologies selected the top 25 original sounds that were commonly used in many of the popular songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The goal was to preserve the analog characteristics of these vintage instruments. While playing these instruments, you can hear the mechanical noise of the keys and the amp noise (sometimes referred to these sounds as dirty-sounds). It’s part of what makes this music unique!

The library comes with massive amount of professionally programmed sounds. You receive a total of 128 sounds (64 Combis and 64 Programs). Play with Full Control of the Parameters in Real-Time

Each sound has been assigned to the Common Realtime Controls: Knobs, Switches, Joystick, and Ribbon. It will allow you to control Filter, EG, LFO, and many other parameters in real-time. (Check the manual for more details).

Emulation of Spring and Plate Reverb

Many of the sounds in Programs and Combis have vintage reverbs to bring your performance to the next level. It is like plugging your Kronos into a vintage tube amp!

Play with Expressiveness When Used with the Expression Pedal or Breath Controller

In Combi mode, all the sounds have been assigned to either to filter out the CC11 / Expressions or use the CC11 / Expression Pedal to fade in/out sounds. It is very important and especially when you have a Bass Split sound to only control the volume of the sound track and not to affect the Bass Sound.
