Kellam @ Burning man 2013: Live at TRIFUCTA Party Playground

A mix recorded during a set at an incredible party in NYC December 7th, 2013.  Please note this is posted as recorded- no post editing.  Please forgive any small errors, as this party got a little out of control which may be apparent in one or two of the mixes, A girl even fell into the DJ booth at one point- exciting times! Didnt want to toss the mix, though,  gives it an odd sense of authenticity.

Kellam: VINTAGE - Apres BPM 2014

A cheesy love mix I put together for valentines, tracks both old and new, and open genre, following a thread of heartfelt & inspiring tune that has warm vocally montage of tracks... Mix goes through a variety of deep melodic house to some folk/acoustic tracks... This is a more open genre and light hearted/vocally mix than my norm, but was a fun trip making it and mixing in styles together I dont normally spin out at events/shows... Kellam: Live on Global Mix Radio

In this long over due live mix I had the pleasure of leaning into the theme of the festival, Pynk VINTAGE, and let go of my ego of playing ONLY the best NEW music.  I took the opportunity to weave in and out of some pivotal songs from the last 12+ years of underground house music & techno, blending soundscapes, remixing old classics and weaving in new songs as well.  The entire set I utilized 3 CDJS creating long mixes while moving quickly through songs to keep the flow exciting and utilizing multiple layers to remix the last decade of house music.  I hope you enjoy the journey of the new and the old.

0.12 is the latest instalment to the ever growing Dilate Records imprint which comes from the new breed British producer Evans.

Raxon (My Favorite Robot, Culprit) & Pattern Drama (Touch of Class, Cityfox) finish this Ep of in style. 

The original mix brings a dark and serious vibe to the release with an amazing edgy baseline moving throughout the track, accompanied by suttle synthesis creating the perfect atmosphere for those wanting lose theemselves in the music. 

The production quality just gets better and better and is slowly becoming a standard feature in the Dilate Records catalogue. 

Raxons take on the remix is peak time main room banger with heavy pumping drums and a drop that can only be described as destroying.

The 3rd remix comes from Pattern Drama which has a different take all together. Think sunshine and rooftops! Live played guitar running throughout the track accompanied by warm sounding drums a low slung baseline.

A perfect way to finish off a truly outstanding EP!!

This is a 2 hour portion of a 3 hour set recorded live February 26, 2015 at the Launch party that the W Retreat Koh Samui, Thailand threw for me as the new W Music Curator and Resident DJ here.  

I am truly humbled by the entire W family here and how much effort and energy went into putting this together... I look forward to what this year has to offer and many of the Artists I will be bringing over here to play!

KELLAM: Melodic May 2015 Live @ W Retreat Koh Samui Thailand

I have had a wonderfully busy summer so far with my new residency in Thailand, shows in Europe and the states and never got a monthly mix out for June!  Here is a live mix recording from a show I played in Europe in late June. Please forgive the line crackle towards the middle end - someone moved the recorder and the lines crackled a bit- I post all live mixes unedited though for continuity sake :)  What you hear is what you get.

This Mix has a blend of dreamy melodic tones and rhythms and develops into a bit more of a summery house groove and then wraps up with a nice open-air dreamy break beat groove. I hope you enjoy. KELLAM: July15 - Live vibes for the tribes

For those that are unaware, I was in a terrible accident in August in Thailand following a music event there and have been recovering from that for the past few months. I wanted to put together a mix that was a ride on the mental and emotional roller coaster I have been on... It is raw without post edit.
This mix starts with a beautiful new track from Nico Stojan, aptly called "Blue Hour", and builds into dark brooding driving rhythms. I had been thinking about putting together a mix that could sonically express some of the dark thoughts I have had during the low points of this recovery, and I thought the time leading up to Halloween would be a great time to share this set.  This mix was recorded only in the headphones and no monitors and a pretty even mixture of new and old tracks, including some of the tracks I was looking forward to playing at Burning man this year, which I missed due to the accident... I hope you enjoy it.

KELLAM: Oct 2015 - Dark Thoughts

"I took the core melodic elements from the David Morales house remix of this original song "Once Again", by Hang Massive and remixed the track with a very earthy, natural flow, highlighting the beautiful hang drum, and then building into the melodic techno break in the middle. I also wanted to make sure to break up the percussive and rhythmic pieces to give it a really groovy laid back vibe that can be entrancing but still drives along. I hope you enjoy it"

Lunar Dreams

Sabo - Oud Dreams ft. The Spy from Cairo (Pattern Drama & Kellam Remix) [MM005]

This recorded mix is from a recent set I was invited to play in the heart of Brooklyn NYC at a wonderful underground music venue that only a select group of a few hundred people know about.  
The atmosphere was perfect, I played a sunrise set from 5-7am, the crowd was bouncing, the function one system pumping, and the energy just off the charts.  

This event was a "Welcome back" as well as a Birthday celebration.  2015 was a whirlwind for me; my accident in Thailand and subsequent months of recovery, wheel chair and my own physical rehab (once cleared to stand) through dancing and music was all an incredible reminder not to take anything for granted.

With this mix I wanted to blend a world of electronic dance music, techie sounds and organic melodic tonalities. You will notice throughout the mix that the music will articulate back and forth between more electronic deep tech house and back to more organic qualities.  This mix, to me, represents a fresh start for me, as well as a musical metaphor for the transition from winter to spring.

KELLAM:  April 2016 - Live in NYC @ Kostume Kult

My May mix is a tribute to a dear friend of mine who has gone to a musical place in the sky.  My beautiful brother had such a wonderful influence on me as a wonderful spirit and as a DJ. I hear his influence on me every time I play earthy, as he coined "Celestial" vibes... In fact yesterday morning before the news, I was I was discussing with another dear friend how we were worried something may have happened to Christian, our friend wondering if he were alright since we hadnt heard from him for a few days... Directly After I recorded a new music mix.... Listening back to it on my flight to Houston I could hear him speaking to me through the music and his profound affect on me, like he was having a conversation with me... His loving and soulful presence is in this mix- I am posting it as a tribute as my May mix.  I hope this musical conversation I had with him speaks to you all as well and helps to center you and guide you through some quite moments in celebration of our brother and Peaceful Warrior, Christian Alexander.   I left a long moment of silence at the end in his honor.

It wasn’t long ago that I never considered DJing or had any knowledge of the underground dance music scene whatsoever. In fact, it was at burning man many years ago that I had my first crash course in exposure to it at all.  I remember the first time I came to DISTRIKT in 2010 I was so blown away by the complete wild nature of this seemingly never ending block party that was completely encompassed with a totally inviting family vibe; While the DJs, who were completely foreign to me were making everyone dance in rhythm with each other.  Fast forward many years and there I was, walking into the DJ booth, playing on the Wednesday line up, of which I personally knew all the DJs. As my music career has started and grown, which such a burning man influence, so has my musical direction.  With this set I completely went with the flow of the day and started with a very techie vibe, taking over from where Muffs & Mykola left off, and let music naturally flow from techie, grooves day time vibes to just open, progressive tech vibes. I am so happy to have been invited to join the musical family at the DISTRIKT, and really hope you enjoy this set… Looking forward to seeing you all this year at the burn!

Afterhours Deep House

It wasn't long ago, only a few years, that I went to burning man for the first time where my life was changed for ever. I was so spiritually and musically inspired by so many different experiences there.  

I came across a bus that was rigged along the entire left side with speakers pumping tens of thousands of watts of amazing deep house, tech-house, electronica and etc.  I became so inspired I started down the path of shedding my music libraries of the mundane cookie cutter commercial music I had known my entire life and hunting through thousands of underground music libraries to find songs just as inspiring.  

This is only a portion of a set from one of many (too many to count) sets I have played since then... and this was set is from an afterhours party that happened following a 'robot heart' party (the art of sound) at Tammany Hall for Yentalbeats birthday. I had another party simultaneously downstairs with Naveen G.  And I just felt the urge to post this set and say thank you to All the Robot Heart DJs that have inspired me into this genre of dance music. (Dj Travisty, Hoj, Mike Khoury, Naveen G, Benjamin Alexander, Dory, Atish, yentalbeats, Lee burridge, Danny Howels) as well as all of the DJs and musicians that share there craft and inspire others. 

Please also keep in mind this is around 10am in the morning after a long night of shenanigans, Djing off a windowsill in a loft afterhours party in manhattan. This mix is unedited, just as is, mistakes and all.

NYC Afterhours-Inspired by Robot Heart

DJ'd a friends bday party the other night at a semi-commercial venue thus I played a mix of deep house and some bouncy/happy tunes...Good lounge/warm uplifting mix to bounce around to, Dont worry, not commercial mix, just more vocally deep house than I normally play.
