Vancouver-based, Jonah Kelland Radu, also known by his stage name Kelland, is a multifaceted Canadian artist, songwriter, and producer. Since the start of his music career, he has amassed well over 38 million streams, with several of his singles breaking through to the top 25 of the dance and electronic charts, and his debut project THINGS CHANGED premiering at #1 on the Canadian House Charts. Kelland quickly earned widespread acclaim touring across Canada performing at some of the country's top music festivals and nightclubs. He has received support from tastemaker labels such as Capitol Music Group, Universal Music Group, Monstercat, bitbird, Lowly, 10K Projects, and more. Now a resident of Vancouver, Kelland’s pathway to success began in his hometown of Calgary, born into a world where he was encouraged to follow his passions. every room, it seemed, was filled with music. From an early age, listening to music was the thing that got him most excited. It was in the basement of his home where Kelland’s first moment of inspiration struck, watching his father spin deep house on vinyl. Seeing how inspired he was, his parents gifted him his first DJ controller. Not long after, Kelland was throwing up his mixes on Soundcloud and sharing them around with friends. After learning the basics of music production at school, he interned at a college in Calgary where he was ‘paid’ in lessons in Ableton. Entrepreneurship was instilled in him from a young age, and he eventually rocked up at business school at the University of British Columbia. During his first year, he made a life-changing decision. “About a year and a half in my parents said to me ‘You’ve always loved music – why don’t you pursue it?’” This is why Kelland found himself applying to a music school during the Christmas break of his first year. “I remember thinking ‘I’m just going to go full tilt with this.’” He never went back to business school, eventually graduating a year later from the Nimbus School of Recording & Media in Vancouver, where his teacher, an accomplished producer in his own right, Tails, became a mentor, future collaborator, and friend. 

Those first two years of music-making were, as Kelland describes it, “finding his feet”. Then, his music was a fusion of everything he liked. “I was just putting things on the chessboard, not really thinking,” he says. But that business head – not always present in artists, particularly his age – kicked in. He began to think of the bigger picture and signed multiple projects and tracks to labels such as Capitol Music Group, Universal Music Group, Monstercat, bitbird, Lowly, 10K Projects, Physical Presents, and more. After multiple releases and viral videos on TikTok, he was then head-hunted by Amazon’s streaming platform, Twitch to become a partner. He then became one of the fastest-growing music streamers with over 1 million views on his streams in 2 months and in the top 10% of all music streamers on Twitch in 2023.
