Whether running their own XXX label, curating the disco playlist at 22Tracks Amsterdam or spinning wild sets featuring everything from disco cuts and global beats to ambient sounds and industrial house grooves, SHMLSS’s Bart and Michiel have made a name for themselves with an eclectic approach to music that shines through in tracks such as 'Train Ride to the Middle East'. With releases to their name on labels like Life and Death, Hivern Discs, Correspondant and Permanent Vacation Italian DJs and producers Marvin & Guy are proponents of an equally openminded style. Stripping the track down to its glistening muscles, Marvin & Guy have rebuilt it around a bass line that throbs and pulsates in an almost unseemly manner, just the thing for sweaty sessions in strobe lit basements.

Fred Berthet feat. Jessica Baucher - Sève Et Adam

Brainchild of Multi Culti A&R, Sascha Funke and Niklas Wandt were introduced by Dreems, who charted a course for the seasoned Berlin-based producer and funky multi-percussionist and singer. 

Wandt was just about to enter the scene forcefully with his collaborative 2LP with Wolf Müller and the debut single of his band Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge. In the icey cold of his warehouse rehearsal space, Funke had him record a variety of slapped, bowed and scratched percussions (congas, talking drum, prepared cymbals played with a bass bow) over his tracks. These first efforts were later expanded into joint sessions at Sascha's home studio and, within a few weeks, the journey reached it’s destination: Wibe strasse, Deutschland.

At first glance, they seem an odd couple: a techno veteran of almost thirty years meets a side-burned upstart socialized in Free Jazz and Krautrock. but the shared sonic influences come through in the hypnotic, dubbed-out sound, perhaps rooted in the close connection the two share to the Rheinland region in West Germany, Funke as part of the Kompakt family and Wandt by origin and socialization in the Cologne and Düsseldorf music scene centered around the Salon des Amateurs. Regional flavours, global appeal. Multi Culti, promoting local collaboration, one freaky record at a time.

Nine months after releasing Acuds Verbrennungsmotor Ep, we are not done with it yet. We found five wonderful artists to get everything out of the engine, which resulted in this new Remix EP. The title track, produced by ACUD and BEATMÖRTELZ, is here new interpreted in an impressive way by the downtempo specialists ARUTANI and O/Y, by RODION (ALIEN ALIEN), which is known for his massive Nu-Disco Skills, and finally, in a faster version, by AIO. Further LUKAS ENDHARDT gives the poetic track FLIEGEPETER a new look. The original version by ACUD will be published also in a radio version.

It has gone through many changes. Many of the artists have swapped and edited their songs to stay current with their state of mind, environment and personal mood. You can feel the tension. Human unrest rising to a better tomorrow, to a better today within all of these songs.

Music is here to keep us moving forward, preparing us for the next chapter. Life is not going to be the same, but embracing this change is the way forward. United.
