We premiere some slinky techno from Berlin based Lask as she features on W133. The diverse producer provides a wonky trip through FM synths and grainy atmospheres as she provides a club-tool that is both weird and wonderful.

Lask and Prieste5s step up for an exciting new release on W133, releasing a split EP with two original tracks from each of these dexterous Berlin-based producers. The release drops both digitally as well as on vinyl with a limited run of dubplates.

Prieste5s, a devoted live-coder, producer, and DJ showcases her passion for bass-heavy and breaky beats in her two tracks on Side A. On the B side, Lask proves her talent with her carefully crafted productions.

We premiere MagPipez a fast-paced techno gem that boasts a wealth of intricate sounds and weird tweaks. Lask crafts a wonky synth line that lays over the top of rolling-bass and creaking effects. This is beautifully strange in the best kind of way.

En nuestra segunda edición tenemos a DIO. 

DIO es una apasionada del techno con más de una década de trayectoria en la escena underground. Su sonido, influenciado por el Acid, Detroit Techno, la ha posicionado como una de las figuras más destacadas de la música electrónica en Costa Rica. Con una energía arrolladora en cada set, fusiona ritmos intensos y atmósferas hipnóticas, llevando al público a un viaje sonoro imparable. Además, es co-fundadora de Hyper e Insurrectx, proyectos colaborativos con los que se encuentra activamente trabajando para fortalecer la comunidad raver.

Les invitamos leer esta pequeña entrevista que le hicimos a DIO:

- ¿Qué te motivó a ser Dj?

Curiosidad en primera instancia, o mi constante búsqueda de un propósito en la vida, jk! - considero que fue una combinación de factores, recuerdo la afinidad que tuve en la infancia con el trance, luego en la adolescencia mi primo alias Ultratrance, me introdujo al mundo del psytrance y esas fueron mis primeras fiestas… ya cuando era legal, mi club de preferencia era Retrovisor, y en una noche increíble vi por primera vez a una mujer mezclando y ese fue mi click supongo.

 - ¿Qué consejo le darías a alguien que está empezando a ser Dj?

Leer, ser curioso, investigar… en lo personal siento que esto fue fundamental para que finalmente, después de muchos años lograra encontrar un sonido que se alinea más a lo que quiero expresar.  Por otra parte, no pasa nada con ser principiante, todos lo fuimos, no se tiene que saber todo de una vez,  solo ser constante con el desarrollo de habilidades en mezcla, una cuidadosa selección musical, recibir el feedback con humildad y tomar lo que te funcione.  Y por otro lado, involucrarse con la comunidad, colaborar, apoyar etc…


- ¿Cuál crees que es uno de los principales retos en la escena Techno en CR?

Creo que el principal reto es la falta de espacios que sean destinados para este género principalmente, no sería increíble tener nuestra versión de un club de Berlin? Jaja Pero si en definitiva la falta de espacios es una limitante para las productoras y artistas.

French live Techno outfit Möd3rn returns to Rekids’ Rekids Special Projects with part two of their ‘Far South’ EP 23rd May 2025, following part one in March. Across its four tracks, this second instalment once again sees Electric Rescue, Kmyle, and Moteka join forces for an EP featuring no-holds-barred rhythm infused with raw intergalactic sound, while also having a playful and introspective edge. Möd3rn’s part two of their ‘Far South’ project is another versatile set of tracks for those who favour the tripped-out fringes of Techno.

Founded in 2013 by Maxime Dangles, Traumer, and Skryptöm label boss Electric Rescue, Möd3rn has grown into a notable live hardware act with a long list of releases on their eponymous Möd3rn Records label. Though Maxime Dangles and Traumer have now moved on from the project, Mord and COD3 QR artist Kmyle, as well as Skryptöm regular Moteka, have all joined Electric Rescue since.

Set the Mood with Faeber!

Set the Mood celebrates its one-year anniversary with its 52nd guest: Faeber. Over the past year, the series has highlighted a diverse range of artists who each bring their own take on how to build a opening set, and Faeber is no exception.

For Faeber, a perfect opening set is all about variation in energy. It should leave space for the artists that follow, setting a tone without overshadowing the night to come. He believes the opening slot is one of the best timeframes to experiment and explore beyond just techno, inviting other textures and genres to slowly unfold. In his mix, he blends experimental tracks with elongated synths and rich textures, aiming to build tension, especially in the low-end, as the set progresses.

Hailing from ’s-Hertogenbosch and just 22 years old, Faeber plays techno-oriented music and organizes local events through WAZR (@wazrsessions). His sound often leans toward deeper strains of techno, occasionally drifting into electro, as long as the music remains timeless. With an ear for atmosphere and progression, Faeber approaches DJing as both a craft and a narrative, one that begins with setting the perfect mood.
