Legendary singer songwriter Don McLean chatted with 612ABC Brisbane and Coast FM presenter Kelly Higgins-Devine about one of the world's most famous songs - American Pie.  

What does Don think of the parody songs, such as Weird Al Yankovich's "Star Wars" treatment and does he pay any attention to the interpretations and conspiracy theories that abound about the song.

There's nothing scarier for a singer than to be diagnosed with nodules on their vocal chords - so when I heard that Australian country music great Troy-Cassar-Daly had had surgery in the US by the same specialist who treated Adele and Keith Urban I was happy to hear he was in good hands, but a little surprised because only a couple of weeks beforehand, he'd been sitting in a studio singing tracks from his latest CD "The Great Country Songbook" which he's recorded with Adam Harvey.

Good news is he's on the mend and other than doing some topnotch Marcel Marceau impressions, he'll be back touring later in the year.

Anyway, Sean Sennett from Time Off Media and I had a lot of fun talking with Troy and listening to some of the songs from the album.
