The long-awaited first official LP from Michigan-based producer Sango, North, will release digitally on Soulection July 23, 2013 with vinyl to follow. 

Sango’s North brings forth a new sound, one that pulls from soul, rnb, future bass, hip hop and broken beat fusing them together with seamless vocals chops and grooves. North features collaborations from a diverse group of artists like Australia’s Ta-ku, cinematic downtempo producer Atu, nu-soul singer JMSN, story-telling rapper WALDO, newcomer vocalist Brea and Dpat who produced ‘Remember You’ for Wiz Khalifa and The Weeknd. 

Following major worldwide support for his refixes, EP’s and beat tapes from the likes of Brownswood’s Gilles Peterson, KCRW’s Aaron Byrd, and Noisey (VICE) to name a few, Sango is poised to elevate the definition of what “future” music is. 

10+ casual releases later, North combines the best of Sango over the last few years into one seamless musical journey. North is a love story of two people, on a journey, who find better things in themselves when they are with each other. North in Hebrew as noted visually in the album art [that Sango designed himself], representing a sense of “heaven” or “glory” are symbolic to Sango, as he sees everything he does an artist for the greater glory, the greater good, as something bigger than himself.

Produced and mixed by Tim Maxwell of LOSER at Restless Noise Studios, Sick Sad Girl marks a huge leap forward for Damaged Goods Club’s sound, cementing their place in the indie-pop-rock scene and branding them an exciting new artist to watch. 

Written in the dark depths of Melbourne lockdown, Sick Sad Girl delivers a self-reflective, ironic commentary on mental health, unpacking the glitz ‘n’ glamour of being a depressed, anxious and overwhelmed. Peppered with pop-cult references, pop-punk influences, and cover art inspired by Sick Sad World from Daria, this track embraces the Y2K aesthetic with open arms and provides a throwback to noughtier times. 

Featuring tongue-in-cheek lyrics, juicy production, an answering machine sample and a cute ‘n’ edgy vibe, Sick Sad Girl perfectly exemplifies the feeling of being beaten down by life, while also poking fun at the ‘memefication’ of mental health in modern pop-culture. Despite its sad-girl undertones, this track positively overflows with fun and sparkle, juxtaposing raw, honest storytelling with an energetic ‘glittery-pop meets punk-rock’ sound.

Dillon Francis' "Without You (feat. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs)" receives a much deserved remix package with 7 distinct new takes on the hit single! Remixes come from a diverse group of producers, with each one bringing a completely different angle to Dillon's subtle and infectious song with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Dillon kicks things off with his own rework, morphing his track into a big room electro-house tune that's followed up by the super heavy collab from legendary bass kings Flux Pavilion and Doctor P. Henry Fong and Torro Torro introduce massive dance anthems with their "Without You" remixes, countered perfectly by a diverse trio of softer house versions by Treasure Fingers, Hayden James and Low Steppa.
