Kelsifer - Hitech DJ Mix - First mix, so be nice mmmmkay????

My mix from a private park event in Eagan, Minnesota! I was invited to play by DJ Spree & Squiggles <3 

It was a beautiful day in the park, and I played the last set at sunset following some wonderful bounce, house and trance sets. I put a lot of thought into creating a flow that would resonate with that audience, by combining some of the most melodic and groovy hitech I know of. The audience was way more receptive than I anticipated and we were all vibing to hitech through sunset until 9:55 when the park ranger rolled up and I had to end the last track a little abruptly :) 

A big thank you to DJ Spree for being such a kind and patient DJing mentor -- I have only practically played on Traktor + my Traktor controller, but Spree helped me export my tracks for Rekordbox and got me set up to play with a USB on his CDJ3000s for the first time!

Kelsifer - Hitech DJ Set - Live at Phantasma 001 // Hypnotic Ritual Records

My mix from Sacred Earth Open-Air 2023! It was my absolute honor to be able to play at my 11th consecutive year of attending my favorite festival, Sacred Earth Open-Air. 

This set was my first festival set ever! At 4am-6am at the Woods Stage, as the conclusion to an incredible high bpm darkpsy Saturday night with Skuzzo and Znataraja. 

I wanted this set to be the perfect segway from Znataraja's 200bpm psycore set to Ronin's 150bpm darkpsy set that would start at 6am. 

Things didn't go as planned, and there are many imperfections in this mix due to me continuously hitting my cross-fader with my chest, because it was at a different height than I was used to as well as a general nervousness because of my first time playing a festival. Oh well, you live and you learn :) Because there was some volume issues as a result of this, I did go through and do some minor mastering to fix the volume on a few small sections where my chest knocked the cross-fader.

Kelsifer - Hitech Darkpsy DJ Set Recorded Live @ Sacred Earth Open-Air 2023

One of my most favorite sets I've played so far! 

I was on the beach on the southernmost point of the world's largest body of freshwater, Lake Superior.

My time slot was at 1am and the atmosphere was perfect for my music. It was foggy which blocked out the stars and cast us in pure darkness. The wind relentlessly whipped around us from all directions, and the tumultuous waves crashed endlessly into the beach just 20 feet away from where I played. 

When the sun rose the next day and I was finally able to see the water, it looked bloody and red from the clay that fills the bottom of the lake. It was absolutely beautiful! 

This set is dedicated to Lake Superior, and her unwavering power and beauty. Thank you for allowing us to share vibrations on your shore.

My 3am set at The Ether stage 🥹 I'm so happy and proud of this set and I feel that it was a wonderful representation of the style of darker hitech I'm trying to cultivate and share.

I was blown away by the amount of people on the dancefloor, and it meant so much to me to have many of my friends make the trek across the festival for my set and for me to see their smiling faces in the audience 😭

This was one of the most amazing things I've ever gotten to do and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity. Thank you to everyone that made it possible.

And my heart goes out to all of the incredibly talented artists that were supposed to be playing on this stage for the Goa Gil tribute, due to early cancellation of the festival because of bad weather 💔 I was SO looking forward to hearing all of you.

Here is my DJ set from Saturday night/Sunday morning from 2:00am-3:30am, after Feelionics and before Transiant. 

I cannot thank everyone enough that supported Crystal Sky 2024 - Open-Air Psytrance Festival, 8/16/24-8/18/24 in Franklin, Minnesota.

Although my Transcending Events crew has 4 indoor shows under our belt now since October of last year, and we have all been involved in the production of psytrance festivals for some years now with The Chilluminati and others, this was the first time my Minnesota crew and I ran point on organization and execution of an entire weekend festival. 

I wasn't sure how I would feel at the end of it all. I was worried I would feel so stressed out that I would never want to do it again. 

Lemme tell ya, planning and throwing a music festival takes a dang VILLAGE. And even though the event was full of unexpected stressors and situations, I was surrounded with amazing people and we worked through all the difficult situations together. Every single person in our crew played a vital role and made this event what it was. 

I walked away from our event feeling an immense sense of pride and fulfillment. I'm really proud of what we accomplished, and the culmination of our hard work over the summer. And although we are already discussing how we can do better next time, I felt that the vibe of the event was a reflection of our passion and our shared values as a crew.

We loved creating this experience, and we really hope we get the opportunity to do it again someday soon ❤️

Kelsifer - Hitech Darkpsy DJ Set - Crystal Sky Open-Air 2024 (165-194bpm)

I have been trying to get to Texas to experience a DMT event for several years. I was honored to not only get to attend, but to also share some hitech music on Sunday morning for those that braved the weather and were still standing! 

10/10 recommend checking out the next DMT festival if you can! Immaculate vibes, beautiful deco, insane visuals, and the full spectrum of psychedelic trance. The DMT crew is a top-notch community in the US psytrance scene, and I can't wait to go back! 

I was unprepared for the weather, but thankfully I got by 🎶 with a little help from my friends ❤️ I have done cold festivals, I have done wet festivals, but I had NOT yet had the pleasure yet of doing a wet + cold festival in crazy Texas weather in December 😂 I had to tap out and get a motel 10 minutes away to dry out and warm up. Lessons learned, "water-resistant clothing" ≠ "waterproof clothing", especially in Texas rain.

Kelsifer - Hitech Darkpsy DJ Set - YAXCHE Festival - Texas, December 2024 (160-210bpm)

I was so grateful to be invited to play for a second time at Can Can Wonderland in Minneapolis, MN. An arcade, psychedelic mini golf course, and welcoming venue for local musicians and artists, Can Can Wonderland is a true gem of this city. 

Neon Nights is hosted once per month and features synthwave, goth, trance, house, and more! It's a super fun event and tons of people are always going hard on the dancefloor no matter the genre. Everyone is super down for anything.

Honestly this was one of my favorite sets I've played in the last year!!!! The energy from the audience was so welcoming and warm, and I couldn't believe this crowd was receptive to hitech at such a place. 

Although most of my mixes focus on the darker or more psychedelic sounds of hitech, I spent my 20s in the hard dance scene, so this style of mix is super inspired by my years spent in hardstyle and hardcore music. 

These are some of my FAVORITE hitech tracks of this style. Narx, Quantiko and Dysfunction are absolutely killing it in this vibe thus had to use multiple tracks from them all 😂
