So there was this night where I was told a rooster killed his owner with a knive , there was this cute girl who's name I forgot with an even cuter dog named Eleven, we ate some tabouléh and we drank natural wine.
There were 2 CDJs hooked up to a classic 707 scratch mixer.

"The rooster, with a 3-inch knife tied to its leg, fluttered in panic and slashed its owner in the groin, causing the owner to bleed out.
The rooster was taken into custody and is being kept at a local farm.
Thousands of roosters die in bloodsports each year.
A handful of humans have also been killed at the events."

169 Minutes of opening duty at Beate Uwe's Sunday floofy wonderland.
One of those extremely rare occassions where I actually prepared a 120 minute set (there was that extra lil bit of nerves when you share the line up with the incredible @Ninze going live for 3 hours), only to hear shortly before going into my last 2 tracks I get 40 extra minutes of playtime due to unfortunate technical difficulties for the next artist.
But we all know, Colsen loves nothing more than unexpected extended sets :)

Here's my story to you, all of you who love Sunday,
and Monday just a lil bit less.

Probably the coziest club in town , one of the best mixers, soundsystems AND crowds and absolutely lovely staff, all the way from the front to the back <3

I am Colsen and I will always love the sound of being underwater.

Decolstructed

The universe is in the eyes, every set can hold an entirely different universe in them.
They all exist in the eye of the beholder and we just coexist between them in this one universe we call reality.
And then sometimes
we bump into each other's universe.
It can be life changing, eye opening, mind blowing, breath taking, heavy, beautiful or devastating, basically everything you want it to be, wanted it to be or will want it to be.
The universe flows between the possibilities of the outcome
There can never be only one.
And yet there is.
One.

Wednesday Recolstruction

When you decide to stay the night in on a ridiculously hot Sundaynight and spontaneously play 6 two hour sets.
A series in which I happily take you through my collection of electronic masterpieces inspired by the magic taking place in the after hours.

This is actually the 3rd set in a series of 6, reviving the soul of the early morning before in a slightly slower way.
Nevertheless it turned out to be the perfect way to start.

Part 2 in the series of 6, recorded right after SLOW.
When the temperature slowly gets higher in the late Sundayafternoon, the BPM does as well, but the beat, like your sweaty skin, sticks close to something deeper, 

I love to play with outro's and loops to create something temporary, yet infinite, inbetween tracks.
This particular way of mixing always takes control of me in the atmosphere of the after hours, no matter what crowd or genre..

Very happy with this specific part of the series, a lot of tracks I've always had a deep connection with found its way into these 2 sweaty hours.

Mixing in the after hours makes me surprise myself, a way I've discovered where music can somehow love you back.

Summer started and I played somewhere new and somewhere old.
Here's something I played a while ago in the presence of a not so old yet very dear friend.
Some more psychedelic wave-like tracks taking me back 15 years to my heart for punk and psychedelic rock slowly but steadily picking up the pace, breaking it a bit down again just to smack some synths in your face and then slowly bringing you down again to a perfect welcome of a warm dancefloor.

It takes some time to build up resulting in a sweet blend of what I loved, what I will love and what I'll always love.

This year I wanted to approach music differently and I've been fooling around with some loops, edits and ideas.
I got out of bed on a Saturday and dived into my music, my heart and my soul and this is what came out.

It's about 10 years ago Guy J released a beautiful remix of "As You Fall" by the amazing "Bent".
The original was released 15 years ago, exactly the amount of years I've been playing around with music.
Whatever it is I'm doing, it has absorbed half of my life and with it, myself completely.

Reviving my first ever MacBook and a nocturnal drive through that sweet iTunes collection, not touched since 2013, I bumped into some of my older recordings, the times were screaming electro but my soul craved for minimal and tech.
The BPM's were high, the turntables were relatively new and I was a big fan of Deadmau5.

Life hit me in the abdomen with a wake up call and I've put myself on a strict detox right now.
Perfect time to make a mix based on my Smokers playlist that has comforted me for many years.

A hot & sweaty Sunday afternoon, reminiscing between festival conFusion nostalgia & forgotten Sisybeach Sekt Sonntage, I start slow and deep, dusting off some (not-so-old) favourites and throwing some of my more recent discoveries in there whilst playing around with the loops and details inbetween.
The tempo keeps on going up through the entire journey whilst I take you deeper every now and then...
