For their sixth release London based record label and clubnight Snap, Crackle & Pop return with another slice of the post punk and kraut influenced electro/techno sounds that are coming to define the label. The latest release comes from Niv Ast and serves as a follow up to his appearence on last summer's Relish compilation.
"Disco Monroe" offers a nostalgic slice of pitched down French Electro undoubtedly influence by the Djs recent residencies in Paris.

Follow-up EP for Multi Culti from this Berlin duo merging sleek Krautrock influences, decades long production experience, jazz-percussion chops and funky German vocals. 

'Kometenschweif' will sound the most familiar to fans of Sascha Funke's club-ready tracks, with percussive and vocal flourishes from Niklas Wandt.  'Kreidekreis' takes the tempo down while ramping up the trippiness, a circular journey into funk bass, synth prog, and again, a percussion masterclass. Finally 'Weg Vom Leder' sounds like a lost Falco tune, brought up to date.

On the remix side, Alexander Arpeggio somehow manages to swing 'Kreidekreis' into a digital reggae slowburner, while Whodamanny turns Kometenschweif toward indie-kraut-wave bop.

Matching the latest release "Equilibrium" by Swiss duo Theydream, on Fckng Serious, a Remix EP with four remixes by great artists is going to be released. The edits have been contributed by artists of the label itself as well as by artists who have not yet released on Fckng Serious. An important feature: Label boss Boris Brejcha himself also contributes his share to this EP. The label is especially happy about this because Boris hasn't released on FS since his deal with Ultra.

Ann Clue, Boris Brejcha, Frost, and Moritz Hofbauer have all given this extraordinary track their very own touch and so four completely different songs were created which have their very own strengths.

With Frost, Theydream got a new star in the techno heaven by their side, who has already released on Anjunadeep and Mau5trap and whose songs are streamed several million times. The Australian even got support from Pete Tong on Radio BBC 1.

Ann Clue delivers as always. The techno diva, who has been under contract with Fckng Serious since the beginning of time, supports her label colleagues in her usual techno-heavy manner with a remix that is suitable for all dancefloors.

Moritz Hofbauer is the second external artist to make his debut on FS with this remix and is convincing beyond all measure. The young DJ practiced early on and his productions are not only presented by him at big festivals, but also appear regularly in sets of well-known DJs like Aka Aka, Township Rebellion, or Dirty Doering.

Following in the footsteps of Outplay’s offshoot 24 Carrot’s number one iteration published last year, Fouk & Junktion are back with the second volume in their carotenoid-rich series - again soberly titled, ’24 Carrot#2’. Known for their juicy blends of low-slung house and tribal funk, the Dutch duo take an outright peppy shot at the news threads’ continuous doom-and- gloom with four delectably carefree cuts that’ll boost your lockdowned arses to proper upward feelings.
Moving the cursor from Afro polyrhythms to sample-heavy house and everything in between, ’24 Carrot#2’ serves up a quartet of jacuzzi-warm treats, starting with the fun-loving ‘Winner Winner’ - an effervescing, Fela-meets-Ethiopian-jazz-inflected fusion of groovy piano, percussive friskiness and further classic Chicagoan-derived programming.
True to the classic filtered house recipe, tasty slab ‘Chicken Dinner’ gets the vibes flowing and swing swirling cheeky-fowl-style, with its savvy mixture of snappin’n’slappin' cello, straight shuffling patterns and FX-altered vox sampling.
Flip sides and here comes the piquant ‘Mustard’ - a breaksy, drum-driven number merging pizzicato’d punk-funk with typical padded deep-house atmospherics and further wonky downtempo electronics.
Rounding off the package is the rewarding after-dinner ’Smokes’, better tasted with a glass of quality whiskey in one hand and a flock of friends by the dancefloor. Taking us on a helluva cinematic, B-movie-friendly jaunt, Fouk & Junktion dish out a fine blend of acidulous bass, rowdy boogie and solid cosmo-discoid pulse pouring over from distant spaces, as they keep the swing-o-meter ticking its way smack dab in the incendiary zone.
