I'm very pleased to get to work with Karl's music yet again as we have collaborated on many projects together. When I first heard 'Haust' (Icelandic for Autumn), I was haunted by the richness of the bowed sound and the grinding industrial textures that spoke to me about the extreme environment in Iceland (https://soundcloud.com/sesar/haust). I asked Karl if I could contribute and a few weeks later I'm proud to present our 8th collaboration.

I haven't really written anything for a long time. I have struggled a little with inspiration and motivation for music. This song was made because I was playing with different organ sounds. Suddenly it slowly became a song. It has a similar build up as some of my older songs, but it was good to feel a little joy of musikmaking again.

James Bell (a musician I met on mp3u.com a dozen years ago) approached me recently with an idea for a song. He described the style and wondered what I might be able to do. Well, I know my limitations, so I turned to Ray Brookes, who in no time created a marvelous arrangement to support James' smooth vocals (when is the last time you heard a sousaphone used for a bass line?) Old-school sound? Ray and James captured it so well (yeah, that's me in the backing vocals...minimalist that I am ;)
