Michael Bennett has enjoyed an extensive career as a drummer musician producing drum beats, drum tracks and drumming performances that include appearances in the musical Dream Girls featuring the Livestock Players and Lady Day, a play about Billie Holiday.  The New Light Baptist Church of Greensboro casted Michael in the eternal play: Jesus Is Coming to My House.​
​
His skills on the drums have earned him the opportunity to promote and perform on stage with artist like Boney James, Erykah Badu, Rachelle Ferrell, Angie Stone and Frankie Beverly & Maze.  His hit “Be Frank” now airs on the NC A&T State Radio station and was opening act for Will Downing.​
​
Michael Bennett’s participation in the Durham Blues Preservation Society Competition with Melva Houston & the Blues Beat won 1st place, performing the unforgettable song, “Meet Me With Your Black Draws On”.  Michael has also played for the Greensboro Soul Revolution Orchestra and many other events, including the Carolina Soul Fest.​
​
Musician, Producer and Actor, Michael Bennett was born, destined to be a drum player.  He has always been apart of the music and entertainment industry.  With roots from Washington, DC (Home of the Go-Go),  childhood friends include Tony Fisher of Trouble Funk and drummer-comrade JuJu, of Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers.​
​
In the early 90’s Michael recorded the album Addiction, which now sells for $250.  The album was co-produced by George Bishop and Robert Earl Lewis of House of Big Brothas Records in Washington .DC ​
​
Michael continues to record with an up-coming CD, Spanish Harlem to be released in 2013.  For live sounds of smooth R&B/Jazz to Gospel or Go-Go, book the Michael Bennett Project for your next event.​

This week we welcome West Norwood Cassette Library aka Bob Bhamra, a self confessed Coldcut fan who told us that he once warmed up for Jon More at Club 333 back in 2000. Again he's up first and after a nod to our birthday celebrations from KRS 1, it's straight in with Cardopusher, followed closely by the recent Bobby Champs EP on WNCL, Shadow Child and a couple of freshly cut dubplates from J. Tijn and the man himself. Then it's 4 more tracks from his label, plus music from Data 70, another sly nod with Dance tearing up 'Funky Drummer' and closing with the record he finished with in 2000, a certain Coldcut with Doctorin The House Theftapella!
